Tip/Trick: Solving the 'Train on Hidden Layer' issue

This is something I've noticed a few times on these forums.

Versions affected: TS2009 SP4, TS2010, TS12.

Symptom: Error message when you try to place a train: 'Warning: Cannot place train here as there is already a train here on a hidden layer' (or similar)

Solution: The solution depends on whether you have TS2009 SP4, or TS2010/TS12.

In TS2010 or TS12, use the Layers tab (this is the one above the bottom tab in Surveyor) then click the 'Merge Layers' button.

In TS2009 SP4, though, this is a tricky one to fix. It involves merging a blank baseboard - once I have found my thread on this, I will update this blog entry.

Shane,
This only works if you know what is hidden. You can find out by using the find/object/ vehicle tool.
Make cdp's of the assets involved then delete from cm. Open route/session check they arn't there using mini map, close and save.
Re install assets.

I have tried to use this method, but it always hides the trains again. I am using the Mojave Subdivision in TS12, but it always hides my manifest and tank trains for some reason.
