Ok, so I have the Olympus Master photo editing software, and PainNet for resizing images. I can't figure out how to get these photos the right size, so if anyone knows a good way to do that please let me know.
I don,t know a thing about your software but to get a thumbnail to the correct size which is 240x 180 I go into CM and do it which takes a minute or so to add it to your route, session or item.

What I do if its a screenshot of an asset is select an area of the screenshot of the item, approximately of the correct proportions, crop it then resize so it's 180 high keeping aspect ratio the same then again crop the excess width so it's 240, I use Irfanview for this as it's easy to use for simple functions.
Alternatively for a screenshot of a route resize the height so it's 180 and then crop the width to 240. For example with a 1440 x 900 screen shot, if you resize it so the height is 180 comes out as 288x180 and you then just crop the excess width so it becomes 240 x180 , how depends on the cropping tool provided by your graphics package.
If it's just for an asset, use Pev's mesh viewer on the im file right click, make thumbnail saves as $screenshot$.tga
My main problem is getting a screenshot of the two newest ex-SP reskins, Montauk & Aberdeen to that size. I'd planned to use a different one of M&A 2459 for the route since it's already placed on the route when I took the screenshot. I'll see if cropping the screenshot doesn't work; trying to resize by pixels alone does not give a satisfactory result for the specified 280x140 file size.
I use PSP8 as well, and it offers different methods of resizing images. From the images created in the screenshots folder by Trainz 12, I use the selection tool to crop to an 800 by 600 image first for posting on the forum, then reduce it to 240 by 180 for the thumbnail.
