This may be the last time for trainz - rulers won't delete

While working at the route level, I added a small yard to my quarry. To get the tracks straight, I used the ruler tool. I got my straight line, got the track straight too. Selected the delete ruler tool, clicked on the ruler to delete it and nothing. No blink, no screen flash, no obscene sounds, nothing.

now, how does one get rid of the rulers from hell? . .

just spent the last 10 minutes clicking on the ruler arrowhead, the edges around the arrowhead, and each segment of the ruler line, all to no avail.

Stupid question, but did you try exiting the surveyor and or game entirely and trying again? I used to have trouble with certain things when I first got the sim.

If i am working in the route layer and lay down some rulers, I would expect them to be in the route layer. Yes, I did exit surveyor and even quit the application, only to return to find a pair of stubborn rulers. dynamite anyone! ! ! ! !

Try opening the tab for objects and use the delete button there. If that doesn't work, try the same with the delete buttons for splines, tracks, trackside objects, well, maybe even rolling stock.

Although I haven't seen it happen for rulers, I have seen other kinds of objects turn into a different kind - for instance, a piece of track deciding it's no longer a track, but a static object... very annoying when you try to get rid of it!

Minecraft dynamite works quite well! :)

I have/had the same problem with the "ruler arrows". I sent in a help ticket and Zec Murphy responded writing that they realize the problem but with some effort you can delete the arrows. I've had to "left click" on them a dozen times to finally delete one. Also, once placed, you can't move them around. Try clicking somewhere along the arrow and it helps if you "back off" on screen resolution. Hope this helps. Your not alone with this problem.

Be sure you put the view perpendicular to the terrain, on top of the ruler, the closest you can on it, and click on one of the arrows, preferably the 2nd one. I never had problems deleting them, 2 or 3 clicks and done.

Helps if you make sure that the layers are unlocked, the route layer is locked by default and you can not delete or move anything in it until you unlock it.
