Hi,
Before I plunnk down my $50 I have a couple of questions.

How well does the Mac version run? I have an Airbook with SSD Drives an generally all programs are quck and smooth but I am wondering about the graphics as does not have a seperate video card and I have a 720P monitor for it.

Also, are people making comerical add-ons for it?

It appears to be multiplayer.

I am also thinking about the iPad version.

Any advice for a newbie here?

I run it on a Macbook Pro Core Duo 2.16, an older laptop and it's decent in windowed mode. There's a section called Parts and Labor here with a few threads mentioning Macs you could find more information. Someone mentions it runs very well on a newer 13" Macbook Pro in one of the threads.

As far as content, There's no difference between Mac and Windows content. Anything made, with the exception of N3V payware stuff, works just fine. I think that has to do with the installation program for that content being a hold back.

I'm running TS2010 on my MacBook in Win7 under Boot Camp, and performance is OK. Where I think you are going to have a problem on the Air isn't so much an issue of how will it run as much as what else do you want to do with your computer besides Trainz. I've read what's new in the forums, all the articles in the newspaper I wanted to read, and now I'm watching Fringe on TV, and my MacBook is STILL calculating the size of my Trainz folder. I want to say that before I upgraded my hard drive, it had consumed over 45GB of hard drive space. If you've only got a 64GB SSD, that won't give you a lot of room for anything else. factor in whatever your System file takes up and you are talking some SERIOUS space.

edit: 57.28GB for my Trainz 2010 folder alone. Granted, it has taken almost 2 years to build up and I'm still missing some content that I had under TS2009 that somehow hasn't transferred over, but still, depending on what routes and how much content, you can max out an SSD in relatively short order.

There's also the place of TS:MAC relative to other versions of TS to consider. Right now: internals work like
TS:12, but lack many of the built-in assets of that version. So, downloaded assets made for TS:12 are not
likely to run in TS:MAC. OTOH, stuff made for TS:2010 and earlier may not work either (missing, faulty, and
not available dependencies, etc.). The real question is: will they synchronize the PC and MAC versions soon?

TS Mac

I have TS Mac and I like it. The Ipad version only includes 3 short circular routes that also come with TS Mac. It is the same as TS 2010 EE. There are a couple problems:
On Avery-Drexel The Graphics Are Skippy
On CSX Saginaw Subdivision The Sound Is Funky

AND it only takes up 7.82GB on my hard drive!!!:):D;)

I realize that. I was only throwing out there that the content file is HUGE (sure, I've downloaded quite a bit of content), and pointed out that the Airs have SSDs starting at 64GB and could fill up pretty fast. Not trying to imply that they were the same.

I originally tried using it under Parallels and it was VERY laggy. You probably won't be happy.
