I'll never forget....

Fishing up in Canada.... The CNR passed right across the lake in a narrow area. We were fishing near the bridge, there was a current created there which made Walleye fishing good there around dark thirty.

We're minding our own business....fishing away....and here comes this big freight about 7 engines a hundred and some cars....we could hear this thing comming miles away....sound really carries over water.

Leading this thing....is this totally destroyed GP40....the whole front end was gone...no cab....smashed in on itself.

That particular night, I had picked up some guys who were fishing on the bridge who worked for the CNR and took them out to the center of the channel where the action was in my boat...being a nice guy.

When that freight came out of the bush, I was like what the hell?

I was promptly informed that...it was commom practice...it was a Moose Catcher.

Wire frames really help out....

I've found that creek or river splines using wire frames on this topo really speeds things up when trying to find the "actual" creek bed.

And when you've got 100's of miles of them it's a must do...

Four more CNW's from RRMods.

These are up at Marquette, MI heading south to their Shared Yard with the LS&I in Ispeming, MI. This is a string of gp15's heading south.

The RRmods are in the background...I'm not quite sure where 586 came from.

In a yard like this is the middle of the woods..

It is kinda hard to get super detailed. But, I'd like to note these power poles I found a USLW by gfisher. I like most of this guys stuff, and over there he has about 3 or so power pole types... I think it helps make this 2.5 mile long yard a little better.

Which gives me the motivation....

To put together Ferrel Gas in Negaunee, MI. Just behind the tanks and down the hill to the East is the restored Harris Yard used by LS&I, Wisconsin Central, and the CNW..... BTW NO SMOKING!!
