These last Screen Shots....today...

Were 1920x1080 with the sliders all the way out and a draw distance of 3500 meters. Over clocked my CPU today to 4.2 ghz and I was getting 40fps+ running through an average of 45 to 70 thousand speed trees FWIW.:)

Another thing I did..

I cut down the width of the route. In some cases the route was 10 boards wide, now it's much more narrow. In some cases it's down to 3 wide. This really helps out in draw distance....as trainz draws a circle around the view point, when I wanted an ellipse. Narrowing up the width was no problem on this mountian lined route. I think trainz should allow for ellipse view points in the direction of travel...but it doesn't. So, cut off the sides was the only option, but frame rates doubled.

Well . . . Minnesota Jennies are coming - as taconite mini-quads and raw ore singles. Maybe a month off. If I can get these working I might be persuaded to make Jimmies if there are really good pics.

But these can get ya closer :p

OOOOOh OOOOOh Holly Hotbox ... Friction bearings ! Man they look great.

I hated oiling the CR G38 G39 Jennies ... but they make for a fantastic train !

All those zillions of trees ... how are the framerates ?

Edit: On closer view I see roller bearings ... sorry, I got excited there !

Not to hijack to much but the earlier non-taconite version without extensions has the appropriate A3 solid bearing - basically the cover on the box!!
