I wanted to let everyone know, that barring any technical difficulties, the S&R has been uploaded and hopefully will be available in a couple of days.

The route is based on layout number 8 from the Nine N-scale layouts book by Atlas. The number is a bit different on Atlas' website, but in my original book from 1970, it's still number 8!

The track was added through a basemap image that I obtained off of Atlas' website. There is nothing done here for realism. It is supposed to be a model railroad, and the track is laid out as such with repeated loops. Before uploading, I ran a couple of quick sessions and the performance was excellent and the view from the cab as quite nice.

A note about the building method.
The route does not take up a single baseboard, but 1/2 of two boards instead since it is a 3 x 6 foot layout, or slightly under 1 x 6 meters. The baseboard image was scaled to keep the same aspect ratio so it came down to something like 512 x 240 instead of 1024 x 1024, which a normal baseboard image is. The image was then placed at the bottom-most part of the basemap, and then the basemap was fit on top of the route in the normal fashion. Since the basemap object is bigger than the baseboard, the image for it spans to baseboard, and as been snug over to the left-most side. Where ever I didn't have any landscaping, I built a trench and colored that in the ground color used. To hid the never-never land, I used some backdrops.

Feel free to edit and change at will. All content is either built-in or on the DLS station. It was made in 2009 and seems to work okay on my system. If there are any technical difficulties, let me know.
