The Laurel Line Revisited

In the 'What's wrong with this picture" screenshot, is it the first car's back truck? It looks heavily stretched out.
Or is it the last car in the consist with it's floating body?
 
Hmm, just a guess, the bodywork of the locomotive touches the third rail, resulting in a 'shocking' experience. :hehe:

There's a typo on the loco. The text says "Lackwanna" and not "Lackawanna". Goof beers all around from the painter.

I have to say, this route looks absolutely breathtaking. I am usually more interested in European routes than north American, but this one is a distinct exception. I have rarely seen a route with so much meticulous detail. Hats off, sir!

You are correct! It 's a repaint from Cincysouthernrwy. I'm not even sure if he knows, I just caught that not to long ago myself.

I 've never seen this topic before, but there is a lot of things to say about it like; Beautiful, great, wonderful, amazing and very, very nice.

Thanks, I have to honestly say that if it wasn't for Jananton's models, I probably would have givin' up on the project long ago. His models are giving me that motivation to see this project to the end. He's making content I thought I'd never see in Trainz. :Y:
 
This weekend it's only a small update. But first...a new model is in the works. This is yet another of Jananton's excellent creations.

The new Laurel Line trolley.

For the layout this weekend, I worked on the area between the Hilldale and the North Plains stop.

I'm slowly inching my way to the final area to be worked on...the city of Wilkes-Barre. I've got about 2 miles to go. Here is a picture of the Hilldale flag stop.

For the Laurel Line, it's now moved into the suburbs for the next four stops.

A little less then a mile from Hilldale is the North Plains stop. For the life of me I don't understand why they named this area "Plains" it's really one big hill and not flat at all!

I had bendorsey make a custom bridge for this location as there is a road intersection on top of the bridge.

Looking south off the bridge you can see the Plain substation & stop in the distance, but we'll explore that next week.

This area today has been filled in. there is no evidence left of this bridge or the Laurel Line.

Well, yet another week has gone by and it's time to post some more screenshots that nobody seems to be looking at...never the less...here we go.

Moving south from the North Plains flagstop, about a stones throw away is the Plains substation. This building was one of two buildings that was used to extend the electrical power on the Laurel Line. It housed mostly electrical equipment, and also had a small waiting room for the passengers. Dropping off my favorite nysw railcar on the substation spur. In reality, this boxcar post-dates the Laurel Line by about a decade, but so what...that's the fun of Trainz!


Here is the freight motor (still yet to be numbered) passing the West Carey Street Bridge and the Solomon/Plains High School.


Trolley#34 Passing under the North Main Street bridge. Soon these trolleys will be replaced with updated models.


Here is a view from Artherton Ave in the Plains area.


One last look looking towards the Plains substation from the N. Main St. Bridge.



From this point on things are going to slow down with the layout building efforts. The landscaping building portion has caught up with the model building portion. The next area to be worked on is the Midvale area which is just outside of the city limits of Wilkes-Barre.

Oh, but we look, we look. How could we not with such great screenshots?! :Y: It's just that we - I at least - prefer new screenshots ;)

Yes, this will be posted on the DLS. At this time we're finishing the last couple miles of the layout, after we're finished with that, we will move to the logistics part by collecting all the dependencies and making sure that they are all available. We're still in need of content creators to get the project finished quicker. While we are just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we still got a while to go.
