The latest & greatest

BLACKWATCH

Mechanical Engineer
Will you please stop sending me the latest NEWS of the latest "most expensive version of your bloody game.
It has nothing "New" to add, it is just the latest marketing ploy, to make us spend more money, for a game
that has nothing to add.

I have paid though the nose for every update you have made, you have NEVER made any version playable to
the final version you promised,.

So here is a challenge, GIVE ME THE VERSION OF "TANE" THAT YOU PROMISED WHEN i BOUGHT IT" then I will 'think' about
buying your latest version of over priced crap, otherwise, I am leaving your franchise.

Give us what we pay for or go the way of other lying software companies, & sign on the bloody dole, there is no room in this world for leeches.

Like all software, Trainz whatever version, does not stay still. Companies that develop software need to look and move forward with their wares, otherwise, like all companies they would be out of business. And like all companies, N3V is not in this for charity work and needs to cover expenses such as salaries, overhead expenses, taxes, and other costs.

Sure the newer product is getting the attention now just as it should. T:ANE is still being updated with a new patch in beta at the moment. Will T:ANE see these new features mentioned in the newsletter? I doubt it. T:ANE is now an older product and served as a stepping stone with its underlying technology to feed the newer product. TRS19 (TRS 2019) is based on T:ANE's technology. This is no different that Windows 10 begin based on original Windows NT code just as Windows XP, Windows 8, and Windows 2000, and yes even Windows Vista.

With that said,
I have a simple answer.

Unsubscribe from the newsletter then you won't see the "drivel" you're not interested in.

B B B B B But ... It is brighter, and much more shiny-er  You can try polish a barney, but it turns out to be just a brighter and more shinyier barney

BLACKWATCH --

Your heading "The latest & greatest".

The first is obviously a truism. It is the latest.

There are a goodly number of us who certainly agree with the second.

The newsletter matter is easily sorted out. If for any reason you are not happy with receiving a newsletter, do as others have suggested here and "unsubscribe". "Matter solved".

"GIVE ME THE VERSION OF "TANE" THAT YOU PROMISED WHEN i BOUGHT IT" OUOTE!!!

I'm sure there are a some fellow members of the Trainz community that probably agree with you that Tane hasn't quite lived up to ALL the initial hype - expectations. Some people are very happy with Tane SP3 Beta 98700, others not. I would imagine there are others out there like you, that are waiting for N3V to sort out Tane SP3 Beta 98700, (to their expectations), before they decide whether or not to purchase TS2019. That's everyone's choice...

IMHO, Tane was always going to be a "work in progress" till the next version. It's great that N3V are still trying to sort out some of the remaining bugs and make improvements. Especially after TS2019 Beta was launched. Normally a new version launch signals the end of any further service packs or hot fixes for the version that is being super-seeded. Regardless of what you (or I) think of Tane, it's keep'ed N3V in business, paid the bills, and has evolved into TS2019, (with some additional bells & whistles). That has to be a good thing for all... (N3V's doors are still open)!!!

What surprises me is you are still showing that you are using Tane SP2 88364. Clearly, a lot of improvements have been made to Tane since Tane SP2 88364.

My suggestion, and it is only a suggestion; make a couple of complete backup copies of your whole Tane SP2 88364 directory, (USB external HDD or on a different partition/internal drive, etc).

Once you have checked your backup copies are OK, my suggestion is update your existing Tane SP2 to the latest Beta; SP3 98700. If your not happy with that, you can then say that "Tane" still isn't what you thought N3V had promised, and it still fall's short of your expectations. (If your not happy with Tane SP3 Beta 98700, then just delete it and go back to your backup copy of Tane SP2 88364).

Happy Trainzing,

Cheers, Mac...

Bucking for a freebie mate?
Must agree with others that most if not all software programs/games are a work in progress.
IE: MSOffice - latest versions Excel hangs / shutdown, Outlook does weird things etc etc. But we keep on paying in the hope it gets better - same goes for Trainz.
Addictive...."new" must have....spend more money....complain some more for fixes....new fix....spend more money and the cycle goes on - human nature to want the newest. bestest, fastest gimmick going - just chat to the dudes in the apple phone/watch line with each release.

Others have pretty much nailed it.

Though this is very direct, it is also rude, arrogant and down right awful. There are a lot better ways of asking (even when frustrated or in this case obviously angry), without being so bloomin' distasteful.

Hi
I may also ask this when you are talking about T,ane
I bought T,ane but when you wanted to use some of the routes
you had to download a heap of dependencies and if you wanted
to play some routes you had to BUY the rolling stuck for that Session
So thats what i ask
Is 2019 mostly the same as T,ane or what.
The last good version of trainz was 2012 where everything was installed
in the game when you bought it
I still only use 2009 and very happy with that and never many problems
even when you chance stuff made for 2012 and get it in to 2009
Kind Regards
Tonny

Herlev/ Tonny - TRS19 is a vast improvement on all previous versions of Trainz, including T:ANE.
It performs better; looks better, and has more capabilities than any previous version.
The latest build of T:ANE (98700) is very good - stable and smooth-running. I love it, but hardly use it anymore, because TRS19 is so superior in just about every respect.

TRS19 is now in a league of its own - with the promise of even better performance and visual quality improvements still to come.
Trainz has evolved immensely since TS2009.
As long as you have the hardware to support it, TRS19 offers the very best railroad simulator experience available anywhere.

In some respects yes, in some, no.

Visually it's really good and has come on in leaps and bounds since TS09.
For route builders, it's easily the best and most intuitive option available on the market (as have been previous versions of Trainz).
Sound is disappointing, especially when I consider the offerings from other platforms.
For driving trains, arguably the main purpose of the product for many, it's barely moved on since early versions and is the main reason I'm not moving beyond T:ANE at this time. I spend 99% of my Trainz time in surveyor so I suppose that's why I continue with it.

Now before anyone jumps on me for being negative, we all have different expectations and experiences these expectations are based on. While many may not agree with me on some or all points, I'm trying to be subjective, looking at the aspects of the sim that matter to me.

Cheers,
Innis

I have no argument with your point of view, in fact I fully support it. Each Trainz user has their own expectations, requirements and ways of doing things. What works for some won't always work for others.

I wish that more people who post with nothing but negativity and anger in their words would take your more balanced point of view.

The original poster made the mistake of being rude and then compounded it by adding a hollow "threat" to leave the franchise unless he gets his way. If that is an indication of his attitude then I will happily open the door for him, and close it gently behind him. If a poster has nothing to contribute but rudeness and threats then we are better off without him, regardless of the validity or otherwise of his complaint.

My opinions.

He didn't make a mistake, he just wound you all up and then sat back and had a good laugh at every response. BLACKWATCH to a tee. :hehe:

I am not going to react in this thread, I am just laughing at the OP's post, so yea, I am not reacting in any way here...:hehe:

I gave up on TS12 and went back to 2010, then gave up on Trainz altogether when 2010 started running like crap. So if I can make 2010 run the way it used to by unsubscribing from some newsletter, how do I do that? Right now it takes 10 minutes to load a new clean install, because it phones home to load the latest spam every time I start 2010.

IF this is correct, it is pretty sad when one needs to con people with a fabricated post to "have a laugh". :(
Should go into politics.
