The Illinois Railway Museum Route

Thank you PWeiser, I will upload it to the DLS soon. Is there any way I can add ARN to the model?

Good evening everyone and I would like to say thank you for all of the birthday wishes. Thanks everyone for that. Now back to business tomorrow I will be making more progress on the route. I unfortunately don't have the time to post screenshots of yesterday's work on here today but if you go check out my IRM project Facebook page you can see some progress screenshots there for now. Don't worry tomorrow I will have new screenshots to show so stay tuned.

you may want to try and cut back on your spline point, try using the track straightening tool also, other than that decent work man

I have been using the straighten track tool. :) Plus Im trying my best to cut down on spline points but the switches in the museum area are very complex and a lot of them are curve switches, every time I take out a few spline points, the tracks don't line up with the ones on the google map images so unfortunately I have no choice but to use a lot of spline points for now :( but I'm still experimenting on trying to reduce the amount of spline points as best as I can. Plus thanks for the compliment. :)

Hello everyone I have some news to announce. So lets get started.

First off Bendorsey has finished his 3rd engine for this route its a model of a little davenport diesel switcher that was sent to work for the Pullman Company in Chicago. Sadly the real engine looks a little worse for wear but it was restored by IRM during the early years and was operational at one time. it had the number of 1792. This model is now on the DLS

Now there is another version of this model that is also available DLS, in the only photo that shows the engine of what it looked like when it was restored it looked like it had a darker color to it but since its an old color photo we are not sure if that scheme was actually like that or was it because its an old color photo. here is a shot of the other version.

Here is a shot of the 3 Industrial Small Diesel switchers IRM has that Bendorsey has done.

Now I also would sadly like to inform that yet again (But this time for real) BlackDiamond1964 has left the project for good. He sent me what he got done with the IRM diner in a Blender file and told me that he will allow someone else to finish it for him. He is officially moving on to TS2017 but is allowing me to host his content on what he has made for my route so far. Now lucky I talked with my buddy Trainboi1 who has agreed to take over from BDW1964, if I allow him to finish his list of projects he has do first. I agreed. So thats it for now, I should have some route progress done by tomorrow.

Also one last thing, Daylightrain is going to update his website soon to include the IRM reskins he has done for me soon.

Hello everyone, and good evening. I got another announcement to make. Bendorsey has now finished and is Now Being Uploaded to the DLS is this Scale Test Cars from the CB&Q. IRM has one and its number is #204738 and these are modeled after that one. There are 2 versions, one restored and one rusty. Then there are two versions of both the Restored and Rusty versions, they both have different box springs on the trucks. Bendorsey did a great job on this interesting piece of equipment.

The rusted ones

The restored ones

And now moving onto the progress of the route.

Im getting the hang of adding in trees now, the route surely is looking a look more scenic now with each tree and bush added. Plus I put in a new sky texture and I think it looks wonderful with the route don't you think? I think so.

Looking good Matt. I've got some more engines coming your way here shortly.

P.S. Congrats on getting your screenshot in this weeks Trainz Newsletter!

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback, plus thanks for telling me about the newsletter thing Daylightrain. I had no idea about that. :)

Hello everyone, I would like to apologies for the lack of route progress these past few days, I had a busy easter weekend at my job so I had little time to work on the route. However I would like to say Ive been working with with Alex and Adam from JR on two commissions that are almost done. What are they, Im not allowed to say what they are at this time but I will announce when they say its ready. But now that things have slowed down I should be able to go back to working on my route starting tomorrow.

Update on MILW HH660 1603: The ARN mesh on the original model does not have the numbers in the correct position per the prototype. I contacted PWeiser about this and we will hopefully resolve this issue, and have the model released to the DLS soon.
