What it says on the tin really. Let's share and awe at the giants of rail, from steam, diesel and anything else!
To start us off, the Pennsylvania's giant 'Centipede' Locomotive.

You want big? The LNER can provide:

At over 80 feet long, the sole LNER Beyer Garratt was longer than a PRR L1s.

A PRR T1 will be returning in a few years time, as for the others, they won't be coming back for now.

Also for those that want to know if any of these are available in Trainz:
The PRR S1 6-4-4-6 is available from the Trainz Download Station.
The PRR T1 4-4-4-4 is available as payware from Simulator Central.
And the PRR J1 2-10-4 is available as payware from K&L Trainz.

Also there is a project on the PRR Q2 4-4-6-4 underway at K&L Trainz.

The other two haven't been made for Trainz yet.

Don't Forget the earlier version of the Q1 the one without all of the modern streamlining-ish features. This one looks a little more traditional even though it's still a duplex locomotive with the same design inside but outside it looks a bit different.

And the Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 challenger locomotive, currently it's the biggest operating steam locomotive in the world, but it's done for repairs right now :(

And the DDA40X...

Have a good day!

@Pen, it's not just the engines that are big.. the tenders too.. :hehe:(Though for these monsters, that's normal.. :hehe:)

I can't see the images, maybe because they aren't .jpg pictures?

Yea, i have seen the size of a Bullied Pacific when i went to visit the Bluebell Railway, it was very big, but comparing it to any of the Pennsylvania Giants i mentioned, it is the size of a cat.

The Pennsylvania Railroad's motto is go big or go home. :D

*looks at signature*

It was a planed design until the triplex fell on its face and died. but the ATSF still wanted something like it so..

I think what Pennsy's legacy really encompasses is, of course, being The Standard of the World, and also being sort of a "Can handle anything" road. In its prime, PRR handled roughly 3 times as much freight traffic as its top western contemporaries, and almost double that of its only real competitor, the NYC.

Also, they had, at one point, a budget even larger than the U.S. Government's budget. That won't be repeated anytime soon.
