The future of Trainz

Will you be supplying the money to Auran to fund the Trainz future?

Have fun,

Yes I would;)

I buy Trainz Retail over import-shop, UTC over import shop, TRS2004 over a friend in Austria, TRS2007 in Germany, TS2009 with paypal and download.
Today I have not so much time for Trainz (new work, family, other), but I would spend money for future development of Trainz.

It's the only train-software I use over so many years.
Some News? Yes this is ever good.
...this must not be to "Trainz". Some words to Auran, what they do today.
But, we must understand that Auran is "a firm" too and every word they wrote is a "press release" for the other "train-sim-firms"....
...are there any? For me not, here in Europe I see the same market since the first release of Trainz --> 3 games: RS, EEP, Trainz. Years ago MSTS, EEP, Trainz.

And Trainz is the best again.

 It's easy to find the enthusiasm that the original founders of Auran Trainz have passed on Further to today's generation of train sim fans....

For all practical purposes all the ideas that were imagined in the beginning have emerged by this time, currently well depicted with even more by TS2009.

Using the Auran Trainz Forums as a gauge to anything going on with the game is so short-sighted...the stats are in, all current members of these forums are but an unimaginably tiny fraction of the real world sales & distribution of the brand "Auran Trainz Simulator."

Many are dial-up users on a budget that makes dsl a lower-case pile of words & dreams...we're lucky that some even register online...those are the folks turned off by the large, hard to load banners...,etc.

If they do regularly visit the DLS, by the time they have finished downloading, they have no further interest in being online.

I like folks that get the game, study it for awhile, join the Forum Community & slowly begin to put everything together as far as 3rd Party participation goes...especially if they wish to create content....:hehe:

An addition to the world since Auran Trainz has emerged with social websites such as Twitter, FaceBook, MySpace, etc, creates conversation in other places that bring casual users to Trainz.

Still, moving about a crosstie(sleeper) at a time really, we go onward to an even better Trainz, whilst unfortunately some take a spur line to unknown parts...

The feeling I'm getting at the moment is that Auran slowly is turning Trainz into a dying program by not keeping the community posted. I don't know what their plan is anymore, big words a year ago, pushed TRS2009 out the It will be absolutely impossible for the to make a program with just a few hundred die hard fans(the people that usually post on this forum) so I really hope they are up with something really good! A few hundred regular posters on a forum won't be enough to support a program like Trainz.
Be interested to know how you came to the conclusion or fear that Trainz is in danger of dying just because you're not on their need to know list...?
I'm surprised you even think that the few hundred regular posters are the only ones who would buy the sim.....a majority of Trainz users never or rarely post in these forums. You claim you've been a Trainz fan since UTC and love the sim.....but in the years you've been a Trainz fan, you've only posted 12 times in this forum.....apparantly being a die hard forum poster isn't necessary to buy or enjoy Trainz...;)

There are those who cry about Auran releasing a build too soon....and then when they take their time in an effort to get things as right as they feasibly can, these people cry because they're taking too long.....you can't please everyone no matter what you do.

Two things I get tired of.....those who introduce/end their posts with the ever tiresome.."I know I'm going to get flamed on this..." which, to me, is just another way of saying, "I'm going to express my opinion and anyone who disagrees with it is flaming".....and secondly, statements such as...."If you're listening Tony, it could be a good time to speak up and be heard."...why? Because a 12 poster member suddenly is the spokesperson for the Trainz community? Just because a half dozen or so people have like thoughts on something doesn't make it everyone's thoughts....making it sound like someone from Auran has to step in and assure the masses because the Auranian sky is falling....:hehe::cool:

To Sourdough..

I stand and applaud your comments Sourdough.

Warmest regards,

I can sort of see why they are leaving it to the community because we are making better trains then they ever did and the routes are excellent they make originals like Banks Heath look like rubbish.

...ever try to make a route...?

 I'm amused...who are "they?"

WE ARE!

Those routes weren't created automatically like rip & burn, someone with likes as we have took hundreds of hours to finish the so called "default content."

We were given Surveyor, another hundred hours, to create whatever we wanted, even as far as being able to use Digital Elevation Modeling as terrain in the simplest fashion of three color-coded lines for waterways, roads, railroads.

We were given PaintShed to leave Surveyor & recreate equipment to run on the route, open-sourced to add content for others to have...

The early offerings may come up short by today's standards, but it was the bomb back when it came out & far outlived any other train sim to date.

Even so, no one says the content can't be made over & released on the Auran Download Station...

what is patience...?

 How do you learn to wait on something not previously attempted?

Sure, MSTS was done as a game...

It's like authentic enginesound, in-cab acutriments, accurate terrain modeling, additional technology was a lark...

Auran Trainz has considered all of this & even applied a graphics program to help Train Simulator fans to help add to there experience...

We have so many Content Creators, there is not a word to mesh the two...

Even if few were to pay attention, we so have much more to offer.

Patience, is born by tribulation....that doesn't include awaiting losers that like to announce things that they know will never be release, we have those too...unfortunately...I saw one post the other day announcing that he done bogeys previously unreleased....so what...he has not released them fearing usage on non-his stuff....forget him...no one even recognised his post.

You think I'm waiting on them...sorry...that's not patience...that's futility.

I already have enough of that & am going on Further to a route that will knock the heals off anyone awaiting a new or updated release of a so-called "train simulator."

Future? Become prepared for the present!
