The Frisco High Line

That's funny. I did a little search on the DLS for cicadas. Found a nice SFX. Use it with a cricket SFX or two and it really adds something special to a scene. To bad the sound doesn't come through on the screenies. Cicadas are very common in Missouri around the old High Line.

heh, amen to that...I love the sound of cicadas, but when there's several hundred hanging around your house...let's put it this way; they're louder than a locomotive passing a couple inches in front of your face.

Tinnitus not withstanding, it takes a special screen to bring me to that place where I can imagine walking down that dirt road, hear the local fauna, and feel the oppressive heat waiting to be broken by the coming storm.

BN #6230, #1389, and #1392 lead a consist north on the High Line. It's a muggy, late June afternoon in Missouri.

Waiting at the Flemington siding for the daily local from Kansas City to pass.
