Beltpack units handle 90% of industrial switching in Edmonton, Alberta. That said, they rarely operate as single units. They can be paired with slugs, GP9rm's, GMD1's, GP38-2's, and the odd time a GP38-2w. :)

PS-I am still working on a slug. With my schedule it may be released by 2020. :p

I stand corrected then. Ya LCS usually operates with slugs. Can GP38s and GMD-1s operate via LCS as well?

haha sweet! I also saw your ES44AC WIP. It's looking pretty sweet!:D:D

I too learned something useful. :)

It'd be great to see some gp38w's, etc...but you are working on a slug and a es44ac? That's awesome!

Cam can I ask you how you knew he was working on an es44ac?

At CN, GP9rm's and some GP38-2's are the only units set up for beltpack, but they can control non-beltpack units that are part of their consist. In Edmonton, hump sets used to be made up of two GP38-2's and two slugs. Now that the hump has been shut down, a lot of the GP38-2's are working switching jobs. If you look at the following two photos, the second unit is a beltpack unit. The easiest way to identify the beltpack units are the red strobe lights.

I was looking for a kuid at the TPR forums and stumbled across a thread about it.

Nice pictures Shane! Thank you as well for the explanation. I know remarkably little about what locomotives are used and what not. I really hope someone makes a CN gp38 for trainz one of these days. :)

Thanks Cam for the explanation. I should frequent other forums for that reason, from time to time.

That looks gorgeous! :D

Wait for it...wait for it...

Will that beauty be released anytime soon? I'd love to add her to the stables!

Hi Guys,

I'm painfully slow at getting projects completed lately. :'( The caboose was supposed to be a surprise bonus for the Doug and the Slug ( GP9rm/slug ) sets, but as you know I still haven't released the slug. The set is getting close, and should be out by Christmas at the latest.

Shane

WCL-Auran fixed them all. They all have "ditch" tags which are finally supported in TRS2009.

Looking so nice CN caboose and slug, Shane!

As also do you will still work with light with ditchlight on NS CW40-9 and CN Dash 9?
