The Canadian Thread - Hi-Res images

Good Lord, Steve. She's lookin' fantastic but seriously though, don't wear yourself out! PRR G5 then straight to 89! Take some rest if you need some. We all have patience (except some people).

I started this a week ago when I was taking a break from the G5s. That way I'll have this puppy done in a few weeks, then I'll finish the NYC Niagara which is 75% done, then I have a 2 week trip to Chicago to see Bill and meet with some people at the Nation Museum of Transport in Kirkwood to deal with the Frisco 1522. So I will be getting a nice 2 week break next month :D

Rick commissioned this earlier this year when I finished his 0-6-0, so I have no intention to delay this like the 0-6-0 got delayed last year.

THANKS guys for nice comments :).

@Ekanal What vegetation is that and where can I get the Auto-Max? I've looked everywhere for those lol.
Sorry for my late reply (and thanks Dave for stepin in and help with the answer regarding the Auto-Max cars :)).
I do not know if you mean any particular vegetation (to much to list all of it), but almost everything is JVC stuff.

Good old Dave must be keeping an eye on us! Well, I'm sure he must be seeing lots of his great work showing up on Canadian routes. You don't have to go very far on my route before you notice something he made! Thanks for all the great work Dave ... quality stuff we all love to use...

Cheers .... Rick

Thank you. It really is good to hear that. Yeah, I always get a thrill when I spot something I did. Makes it all worthwhile.

Erik has posted a few more wonderful screenshots. They are beautiful. What amazing work you are doing!

Rick, my route is not based in the steam era but those great engines you have Steve making are a lot of fun to drive on it anyway. And with some modification it could be made to look like 60-70 years ago. The area I'm modeling right now is fairly flat with big wide open fields so it doesn't make for the awesome shots that you and the others are producing. No dense woods, no big hills, no valleys, no mountains. Farther west and a lot farther east there are nice rolling hills which I'll get to one day.

And yes, Mr. Snow has made a lot of nice content. I was amazed to see how much there is on the DLS. His GMD-1s are terrific and his red barns are all over my route. I've got quite a bit of your other stuff on my route too Dave. I don't know how you manage to produce so much but thanks a whole bunch. And while I'm thanking Dave, thanks to all the others whose efforts have allowed me to have such a great time with all this. That list would include not only content creators but also those knowledgeable folks with their helpful advice and pretty much everyone who is involved with Trainz in one way or another. I wish I'd discovered this long before.

Cheers,
Jack

Hay guys sorry I haven't been around I been vey busy with life and planning on a Trip to Windsor on the abandon DAR line to take more pics that i'll share with you guys.

More great shots Rick. What a lucky goat! I hope that's not Pete's last beer. I almost wish I was with those guys sitting on the flat car having a cold one. You do pretty fine work!

Dragonharh, nice to see your video and what you've been doing. Looking forward to seeing your pics from the Windsor trip.

Here's the CPR heading for the mine. I wonder if CN lost the contract.

Cheers,
Jack

Nice shot Rick, Jack and thanks for your video Dragon ! Rick, the barn and details around looks very good ! For the beer...I really don't drink much because I got gout issue since the age of 25 ...and 25 years late still have problem with this even if I'm now vegan and not overweight..so that one might have been the last one for me :hehe: with Rick,Dragon and Jack. Please Rick, remind me why we were there, I forgot ?

Real nice shots from everyone. Weird how the grid shows like that in yours Dragonharh.
Erik has some nice looking BCR units working hard.
Those seaside shots of Rick's are good. The wife and I were in Nova Scotia a number of years back and we loved seeing the little places along the shore.

CN pulls past a collection of wrecks that some guy has collected and hopes to make money on.

Rick, funny thing about that compound, I know the guy who owns it. Don't know him that well as he's a friend of my brother-in-law. The vehicles he has aren't quite the wrecks as shown in my screen shot but they aren't drivable. He took my old 1975 Valiant off my hands for $100 many years ago and it's probably still in that compound. The Valiant had bad rust and the tranny was slipping. It was a good winter beater though. I think he just picks them up and sells the parts that are good.

You've got a beautiful province there Rick and I hope to get back there one day. The wife says we're going to Newfoundland next year and since we'll be out that way we might as well visit Nova Scotia for a bit as well.

Cheers,
Jack

Hi folks:

I'm burning with envy at all the great shots! So I dug a shot from the E&N archives. It's a wip view of the E&N Victoria station.

I've been watching P:ANE and a new beta has appeared. hmmmm. My own, personal and myopic view of T:ANE is that it will parallel the evolution of Trainz: first version: Trainz, second version: UTC, third version: TRS 2004. My analysis of the three versions: adequate, boring and GREAT.
My prediction for T:ANE is for the same evolution.

With my damaged right arm - the recovery prognosis is: best case: this fall, worst case: next spring - so I can wait until T:ANE-3.

I see Brittany (mcguirel) is doing T:ANE speedtreez.

All for today.
cheers,
--Michael.
