For work reasons, I was recently sent to Joplin, Missouri. By complete coincidence, I had been modelling a number of buildings in nearby Bolivar, Missouri for Derrick Ricketts' Frisco High Line layout. So in the free time left when my work was done, I drove up to Bolivar and actually found the 3 buildings I had modelled. It was just so wierd to see them in real life, since up until then I'd only seen them in pictures.
Last Friday in front of the Standard Oil depot...sorry for the 'drowned rat' look but it was bucketing down at the time.
This was my model..
Standing by the old Keith's grain mill..
The model;
And lastly, I found Coffey's Grocery store on the corner of Oakland and Broadway streets.
..versus the model..
