For once the morning score check was a pleasure. I just hope we can get the last one down quickly.

TMS at lunchtime was rather spoiled by that odious man, he has no class whatsoever. Can you arrange for him to stay in Aus permanently?

Oh Dear

Cheers,
Patchy

It seems incomprehensible that the middle order is so fragile. Not called test cricket for nothing and Enland are failing the test. I can see there will have to be wholesale changes as the team's confidence is clearly shot to pieces.

kevin pieterson needs to go. he's exceptionally arrogant and past his prime. Michael Carberry makes me sleep, 12 runs off 81 balls?

Jamie

Or 6 runs an hour, Be safe to say he won't be picked for the shorter version of the game

Really hate to rub it in to the English supporters but it's 4 - 0 to Australia now. Did England by 8 wickets in 2nd innings

On to the last test, looking good for a 5 - 0 series sweep

I am a very proud Aussie - served 22 yrs in the Navy and 9 with police - however, I can commiserate with the Poms because I was actually born over there, (Peterborough).
There is nothing worse than being 4-0 down in an Ashes Test cricket series.........
Oh! Yes there is - being 5-0 down!

The interesting thing is how Australia will fare against other test playing nations. I'm not sure that there has been as big an improvement as all that. Australia have played well, but have not batted all that well. England have just imploded and even handed victories to Australia.

South Africa are coming up, a tougher test for an emerging Australian side.

Don't you know why Jacques Kallis retired? He heard Mitchell Johnson will be steaming in against him and bailed! Besides, most if the English team is South African anyway..

Sadly so, regrettably. This is just the worst yet and I do fear for where England are heading. Hard to believe that only a year ago they were doing so well in India. There is a view that this is worse than the whitewash of 2006/7 as that was the last hurrah of a truly great Test team, whereas this Australian side don't really compare. Which makes England's performance look even more abject.

Ah, cricket. It's a funny game. Just after I posted yesterday, a couple of the Aussie batsmen dug in and turned the game around. But our top order batting still looks fragile to me.

Lacklustre, Inept, Complacent.

I can accept us losing, I can't accept us not being in the game.

I gather this was posted for the 4th Test, however, I hesitated slightly, as I was going to use the same terminology for the 2nd day of the 5th Test, today, we've obviously learnt absolutely nothing in the last few weeks, with such an inept Captain who won't attack the opposition batsmen surrounding them with fielders and giving them something to think about and then bowling half-heartedly at them and letting them score 300 runs + in virtually every innings, 'bout time there were major changes in the Captaincy, playing squad and the selectors, otherwise we'll soon fall below Bangladesh in the ICC Test Rankings, which will be an utter embarrassment.

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.

I think the 'English Cricket Board' (or whoever runs the team), should refuse to let the team leave Australia, until they have
been taught by the Aussies, to play the game properly. :D

Thanks for the practice matches, chaps. When are your Ashes team due to arrive? ;)
