Aw, handsome dog! Sadly for England it does feel a bit 'groundhog day' - lose toss; bowl quite well on first day / contain Australian score; bat; collapse; Australia win test by c.200+ runs. Here we go again? Let's see in a few hours.....

No No No

Congrats to Ben Stokes for his 120, he and Ian Bell put up a good fight. It ended up a lot closer than we expected!

Lacklustre, Inept, Complacent.

I can accept us losing, I can't accept us not being in the game.

Well done Australia.

Congrats to Ben Stokes for his 120, he and Ian Bell put up a good fight. It ended up a lot closer than we expected!

I watched the latter half of the morning session and saw Stokes get his 100. Apparently the Aussie team all applauded which was nice. There was some good cricket in that session. I didn't watch after lunch as I was busy but they must have collapsed fairly quickly.

Well done Australia, you outplayed us in every department. Ultimately though I think the key difference is that your guys wanted it more.

So after four years, three months and 25 days the Aussies have taken the urn back. Now the preparations begin for the summer of 2015....

The Melbourne test starting on Boxing Day should be a good game since there is nothing to play for except pride. It's the one game that gets a lot of attention in Australia right after Christmas.

I would not be surprised if England wins that one.

Just reading a news item about Aussie test batsman, George Bailey. On the sudden retirement of England spinner Graeme Swann;

"He's an opposition player whose company I've always enjoyed in the brief period I've got to know (him) and one of the good fellas of international cricket," Bailey said. "It looked like he had a lot of good cricket ahead of him still."

After all the nasty 'sledging' this year - which frankly makes me cringe - it was nice to hear there are still some gentlemen left on our side.

.

Swann's sudden retirement is a shock. And a blow following the return home of Jonathan Trott. England feel a bit like the wheels are coming off at the moment. I hope they can bounce back.

About time you mob put a bit of ticker into the game:D
Well done, Still 3 days to go
Piers Morgan was absolutely hopeless against Brett Lee in the nets Today
All talk no action
