I can tell you what is causing that, and it's an inactivity problem. If it's a long reply, it's better to write it in a word processor then copy and paste it into the reply box.

1: Use the "Always stay signed in" option.
2: Do a preview of your text every 5 minutes.

Alternatively, as Shane suggested, use a word processor to write your post. Something simple like notepad does the trick.
