That Red Bug.................

Ok, I read prior that several things may cause this to occur but what I want to know is why when it happens if I switch the driver than it goes back to normal and the train will go if I select "drive" for that driver vs. initially it will stay still......and this happens anytime I get the error....once the driver is switched everything runs fine...... I would think that what ever caused the issue initially will affect the new driver as well......any answers ?

A red bug always means some sort of script issue. Clicking it will bring up a box which will usually say what's happened which can give a clue as to why it only seems to happen with some drivers.

Do you have more drivers than locos and are some of them drivers attatched to a loco which is deleted by you?
When I forget to delete those drivers I get the red bug too.

To see what is the cause, klik on the red bug and read the message.

Next time it happens I will see what the actual error message is, and as far as more drivers than trains, I do not think I have that problem.

Ok, here is the error message I get at startup of running this train:

DriverCharacter : File drivercharacter.gs, Line 470, ER_NullReference:

DriverCharacter : File drivercharacter.gs, Line 470, ER_NullReference
DriverCharacter : DriverCharacter.CreateSchedule> null driverTrain (file gs.gs)

And this the train......2 loco lead with about 30 or so cars being pulled...

Yup, that's the same red bug I get.

Again...

Go edit drivers, see if there are drivers with a red loco name.
Delete those driver(s)

No, all my drivers show white and only 2 are assigned to trains that are already in the session before I add mine. No red loco names showing. I think the error may have something to do with that specific driver since he is the same one that always starts the session and the error message itself has "DriverCharacter" listed....

I'm 99% sure that error has been previously reported to N3V as a bug. No idea if it is fixed for SP2.

In plain English that error means that the driver no longer exists, or never existed, within the session.

It wouldn't surprise me if the suggestions given to you fix the problem, although it should not have occurred in the first place. :)
