TGV Duplex: Trainz 2010

I'm trying to find the locomotive in Trainz 2010. I know it is already built in, because I found it once, but I can't seem to find it again. Can someone please help?!

Hello FramedCommando,

Use the search bar at the top of the screen, in Trainz 2010 in Surveyor, and search for either SNCF or TGV, you might have more luck in finding what you are after.

Hope this helps

Searching for TGV Duplex

I'm totally new to this simulator. You guys are talking to each other in terms that I'm not really familiar with. I own NOTHING having to do with TRAINZ. I've been using TRAIN SIMULATOR, (RAILWORKS), (on Steam), because of the great graphics... but nothing works in that sim! Things remain incomplete forever, and I think they're planning to start from square-1 again soon with a new graphics engine! I couldn't take it anymore... so here I am! :)

Because of poor eyesight, dyslexia, and Asperger's, I need clear explanations / instructions... and I'm confused by what I'm reading here. I can afford to buy TRAINZ. I just need to know if the latest version of TRAINZ, (TRAINZ A NEW ERA), includes the TGV Duplex! (I'd really like to have some of the other TGV's but the one I want the most is the Duplex. :) If I buy TRAINZ A NEW ERA, (on Steam), will I have the complete / updated content, and not need to get various service packs etc., except what Steam asks me to do when setting things up there with the sim? And will the required routes be there as well?

The sites I was directed to in this thread are in French! (That's Greek to me!)

I've been unable to find a list of what's included in TRAINZ A NEW ERA. Can someone please help me find the TGV Duplex, (and hopefully some of the other TGV's), so I can tell Santa Claus what to bring me.

Any help with this will be very much appreciated. :)

It sounds like you're asking if T:ANE has the TGV built in. The answer is no. However, there are many variants of the TGV available for free on the Download Station (DLS). You would get free (although slow and limited) access to the DLS if you bought T:ANE. There is a program within Trainz (regardless of version) called Content Manager that allows you to download straight from the DLS and to install the items you select into Trainz.

The only version of Trainz that I know of that included the TGV was TS2010, which is still available for cheap at SimulatorCentral.com, but would *NOT* come with free DLS access, because it's old and not supported anymore. However, the TGV trainset that comes with it is of decent quality and should work right out of the box.

If you do get T:ANE, there is a version of the TGV on the DLS by Josiassobrinho that looks good and is reasonably up to T:ANE standards as far as overall quality. The older versions are of varying quality and many are reskins (repaints) of other's models. I strongly recommend buying T:ANE from SimulatorCentral.com, not Steam, for support reasons. I or someone else here could tell you exactly how to find it, depending on whether you get T:ANE or TS2010.

The payware version of the TGV you probably are referring to is from the link below. You can use Google Translate (translate.google.com) to translate from French. It is, after all, a French train. This is what I get:

The TGV 001, in the sixties, is a turbotrain. Designed to travel at 300 km / h already establishes the principle of a train whose trailers are articulated through joint bogies. Its design is due to Jacques Cooper also conceptualize the design of the South East TGV Alsthom. It is December 8, 1972 that the 001 TGV reaches 318 km / h on rails.
The South East TGV SEP released in pre-production in 1978, and will be for the Paris-Lyon. On this line under construction, it reaches 381 km / h on February 21, 1982. Therefore, technological advances and the various studies will not cease to increase control performance, giving the A or TGV Atlantique in 1990, the Network or TGVR , oars or WMSD Transmanche (Eurostar), Thalys and finally Duplex. The European network beyond North Thalys sees the park to acquire the POS and RD oars. The acronym POS stands for Paris-Ost-Frankreich-Süd-Deutschland, and RD vs. Home Network means for trains serving only the North of France and Luxembourg. Thalys PBA receives the name by analogy to the old Trans Europe Express: Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam. The new driving PBKA to receive and provides service in Cologne (Köln in Germany for K).
This Special Edition here illustrates all these oars each 3D booth dedicated to TANE textures revised version to enjoy the graphics of this version.

In my opinion, the TGV on the DLS from Josiassobrinho is the best-looking TGV available, followed by the one built in to TS2010.

Searching for TGV Duplex

OK, T:ANE is TRAINZ A NEW ERA! Silly me! I didn't get that!

So if I get T:ANE, then I can get the BEST TGV Duplex that can be gotten for TRAINZ. Right? Are those TGV's the only ones available for TRAINZ? I don't care if I have to pay for them. I want the best version of the TGV Duplex, (and, I guess, other TGV's as well), that can be gotten anywhere! :)

Oh... don't get T:ANE on Steam? I donno... I can't deal with actual DVD's. I'd rather Steam takes care of things instead of me. I had absolutely no trouble with Railworks on steam... were before I had to deal with all the disks and stuff! We're moving soon and the disks from older versions of other sims are still packed away from our last move! Can't even find them! And even if I can download TRAINZ from Simulator Central my poor eyesight, the dyslexia, and the stress of moving for the millionth time because of how rents keep going up while salaries stay the same, means I have to keep this as simple as possible in my eyes. I always know where my game is when it's located on Steam. I'm not too satisfied with the support but I managed to survive there, I guess.

Searching for TGV Duplex

Though I'm making progress in my search for the TGV Duplex and possibly other TGV's for TRAINZ, I feel I need to get the sim on Steam because of.... blah blah blah blah....... but I don't see T:ANE DELUXE EDITION on Steam. I thought maybe getting the deluxe version would ensure my getting all the routes required for all the TGV's, (especially the Duplex). Or can I get what's needed by downloading it on Steam? And would I have to pay extra for extra routes?

The Standard Edition comes with just a few routes; the Deluxe or Collector's come with all 7 or so routes. You'd have to buy the routes separately if you bought the Standard Edition, not to mention they are restricted by DRM, so if N3V ever went out of business (not likely, but, hey, you never know), you'd lose the extra routes. That *shouldn't* happen if you bought the Deluxe version from SC and signed up for the DRM-free patch.

With that said, the Standard Edition comes with the ECML line, which is a high-speed passenger line, albeit set in the U.K. Routes set in France are available on the DLS and elsewhere, so the lack of extra routes built-in to T:ANE probably won't affect you that much. You would have DLS access even if you bought the sim on Steam.
