TGA file question

Can someone explain to me the answer to the following...

I have a tga file that is 512 x 512 and 1.00mb

And have repainted it

and saved it as tga file again 512 x 512

But this time the file read 768kb and wont work in the game

When put in the folder and viewing it in the game... you can just faintly see the repainted section... but you can see through it. transparent like


Any ideas???

IF UNDER 2004/2006 (since you didn't state version)
Has to be saved 24-bit and alpha channel has to be updated..

Or, you can...

...save it as a bmp, change the texture.text file that points to it to reflect the format change and make a seperate alpha file, also in bmp.
 
Euphod, thanks heaps that worked great.

Ive never had that problem when repainting trams. So thanks for every ones help.
