Terminus/Terminal

(I used search mode)(My trainz version is 2010: EE)

I don't know if i'm posting this in the right forum, so that's why i do it here.

My question is: How do you make a terminal/terminus?

My idea is to make 4 terminal stations with each about 4 to 6 platforms. I don't know how to do it. I tried andi06, but i saw that's only for 2004. If somebody says that I need to download something; please give the link.

Greets,

PS: For some reason the Download Station doesn't work, maybe because I don't want to spend money in it.

PSS: I'm a beginner, explain as detailed as possible.

1st) To access the Download Station you need to have a registered version of Trainz. To register your version click the "Serial Number" link at the top of the page. TS10 users have free access to the DLS. (higher speeds, no limits can be accessed by buying a First Class Ticket)

2nd) I would suggest using the AJS (Andi06) stuff as it should work just fine in TS10. Generally speaking stuff made for older versions of TRS will work in the newer version but not the other way around.

I also would like to know how you can end a railway. With such a thing like a buffer. But i can't find anything like that in the normal Trainz 2010. What is it called?

Hi Jast2115

You should find it under buffer.

Are you looking in the right place?

You need to be in the track flyout. Select the track object button (top middle). Enter the word ”buffer” in the search panel. Most, if not all buffers will be here.

DLS has loads.. Search for buffer, buffer stop, butoir, hydraulic buffer etc.

There are a few buffers builtin, one that works as a signal is "rail end" if you want one that does not work as a signal use "nsw wooden buffer"

search station on the dls and i got quite a few terminus stations that range from 2 through to 8 tracks and they have even made through versions of them

I suggest most importantly that you read the manuals, both paper & the documents that are in somewhere in one of the 2010EE folders.

IF you want to download from Auran's official download site, then you will need to register your TS2010EE version.

You can make terminals by using different items and joining together to suit how you would like the terminal (or any other station) to be. Their are already some terminal stations included in 2010EE. (Think of it as making a physical model rail layout.)

There are several of my terminal and through stations, with and without track, made for 2004, on the DLS - when you have registered, tick 2004 and look for Station UK ..... (KUID 275817....) - these may give you some ideas.

That is very interesting. I always assumed that all buffers acted as stop signals regardless. How do I determine which do and which don't?

Quickest way is to hover the mouse pointer over it like you do a signal to give you its status (line terminates or is closed) or look on the mini map and see if a signal is placed. ;)

I've never had a problem with any of Andi06's stations.... they really are the best way to make stations. Working out how they work can be tricky at first, but its just a case of going though the menus and setting them up. Andi's content will work on 2010, unless you're missing a dependency or something. Have a look on Andi's website for tutorials on how to use the stations, although they do also have instructions when you click the options button for the asset.

If making a terminus, I would suggest you first check that the rail buffers you are using are signals too: otherwise AI trains get very upset because the track is 'unsignaled'. Secondly, as a default, Andi's stations are 100m long (if you are placing them, the big 'platform' oblong is about that size) so make sure the track is at least that long. If you make the platform longer, you may need to move the AJS station. For termini (set up as a terminus station in the options mode) the front of the train will stop within the 100m, so place the AJS station nearer the bufferstops. For a through station, the entire consist will centre on the station, (the middle of the train will be about where the platform numbers are) so the station must be placed in the middle of a platform.

Hope that all makes sense? I swear by Andi's content, so i would recommend you download it all and try to learn how it all works (it really improves the base game)
