Team Request

Hello All. I am thinking of starting a site. Flamerail said I need a team to have a decent site. That's what I'm asking for. I wish cool people like Joram24, SPORBUST, chrisracer8903, ans captkilljoy could be on it but they're starting sites. If you are interested in gmax creation, route building, and anything else involving custom content, please reply and tell me what you do most in the custom content fields. I'm asking for North American content. I'm working on my NS Atlanta North Distict. So if you meet the above fields, please reply.

Your best bet in putting together a team is to take a look at what each prospective recruit can do.....resist the temptation to put someone on your team just because they volunteer....the talent is probably out there so you need to be patient. Don't let self proclaimed creation geniuses convince you that the good talent is tapped out.....as is the nature of artistic talent, there will be egos to deal with...be prepared.

Well dude, Guess I just shouldn't say to someone that I don't know has talent that they can be on the team.

Gotta agree with Sourdough here (and this is possibly only the second time ever). Some of the posts in this thread are quite surprising. There are a huge number of creators, in fact probably the majority, who work alone and aren't part of any group or team. Most prefer to work at their own pace and create what they want. Yutzk's claim that most of the good creators - himself included of course - are on teams is simply wrong and seems to be quite a snobbish attitude to have.

Whether someone is "good" isn't for a creator to decide for themselves, and definitely isn't something they should be claiming on an international forum where most people don't have any of their content. To quote a British comedian... "There's confidence in your work, and then there's arrogance."

sounds like im out then i guess...
:(.......im ok and relistic but i cant prove thaty cause i cant upload pics.....

I agree with jivebunny's option 100%. I would like to add however that having the willingness to give someone a chance even if they are "volunteering" is something I believe in. You just never know. We all have to start somewhere to show what you can do and or learn to do. I think you should continue to be open to that quakers1.:)

I quite agree with this, we all do have to start somewhere and using others talents, input and ideas can only better our own work. I also have to agree with the other thoughts posted here by a few "oldies" :hehe:

Not really, see above and why can't you upload images, PM me if you like.

I was merely pointing out the fact that you just cant go around trying to tap resources that have already been tapped.......not taking a "snobbish" attitude as one called it. Its dumb crap like this that makes me not want to bother with this forum at times.

Gotta start somewhere.....

Quakers if you need some pointers on startin up a team hit me up sometime and I'll help ya out if you want.

Quakers1,

I think it's great that you have the love and enthusiasm for Trainz to want to start a team and website. Creating projects, working with members and managing a website are all things that require dedication and A LOT of effort; I know, I do the same... I've had a GREAT time, and I sincerely wish the best for you. If you stick with it, you will have something to be truly proud of.

Because I have my own site, team and projects, I wouldn't be doing justice to your team by joining, as I'm not in a position to dedicate what would be expected of me...

But, I support up-and-coming stars like yourself, and I would be honored to be of service to you and your team where and whenever I can.

Maybe you would like to have "contributors" or "consultants" outside of your core team? If so, please consider me.

You can check-out my talents and decide for yourself by clicking on my banner below and visiting my web site. Or, you can check the latest progress on my Grand Canyon Line.

Thanks, and welcome to the next-level of Trainz!

~Rick

...get in where you fit in...

8) I've been solicited solely on what I have presented as my posts...

I understand Flamerails point. Concentrated effort produces results.

And I have a few things to add:

Leadership. Someone has to be the Project Manager...a leader is made, not trained. Every group, must have a leader, only one. And the Leader, must be supported no matter what. Even if they are wrong. This works. A non-successful leader will soon realize the mistakes do not warrant continuation to the detriment of the project, a new leader usually emerges, and the old leader steps down, thankful for the experience, knowing the next time, better results will be achieved.

Time lines. It sounds like prodding to push results, but the collection of ideas comes to play, and problems are resolved.

Study. Several of the above mentioned sites, have forums that can be populated with research, the discussion of ideas, and resolution to problems, allowing ideas to be shared amongst like minded peoples. This is where outsiders can participate, so long as forum COC is observed.

Media. Not exactly posting proprietary content, but offering tutorials, screenshots, posting on YouTube, etc.

Realizing someone else is modding the same content you are...so what...eliminate the competitive attitude, and realize Trainz is so huge, you can't cover anything completely enough to please everyone.

Good Luck and GodSpeed every one of you in your efforts, and if you wish, arrange compensation by Paypal.
