Hello all,

I jhave just downloaded and instaled TC2009 (very excited!) however when I go to start, the Configure Traionz box opens. I have put my seriel number in the key field (I assume tis is corect) and then gone to run Trainz however itsimply re-opens the configure box.

What do I need to do to get TC2009 to run?

I had the same problem. I had entered BETE instead of BETA. I changed the E to an A and still had a problem..
I deleted everyting in the CD KEY and tried again. That time it worked.

You will need to go to Planet Auran, and under serial numbers, put in the serial number for TRS2009 beta. Once its been registered there, ensure its correct in TRS2009 Beta 1, then it should run.

I am having problems as well.

After countless reinstalls etc, I still get incorrect key or install failure. :'(

Correct key used (supplied key - BETA-XXXX-etc)

WTF!!!

2.6G is a heap out of my usage, and at this stage another download is out of the question.... aaaaggggghhhhh.

Hang on... Are you guys typing it out manually? Why not just copy and past? :)

Been there, done that. Even tried getting the trouble & strife to try it. NBG.

Are you supposed to have a serial number AND a Key, or they one in the same?
:'(:'(

I've seen this game on a mate's computer.... I bloody NEED IT.... LOL..... Going nuts....

When you copy right, make sure you end right on the last number. My one had a space at the end, which messes up copying it. :(

Copy and paste 101:

Left click and hold, just to the left of your serial number.
Whilst holding the left mouse button, drag to the right hand character of your serial number.
Release the LMB (left mouse button)
R-click on the selected text
L-click on Copy
Go to the Options panel and L-click in the Serial Number field
R-Click to bring up options, L-click on Paste.

This will copy your Serial key from your email to the Trainz entry field.

Thanks guys, but appears there's more afoot. Cannot get access to the FTP site either.

Prolly better to wait for the full version to become available and try again. Very frustrating, considering I took the preorder option. Hopefully I'll have more success with it.

I have Windows Vista. After I have install TC2009 Beta, I run it. Then I got the error message "Sorry CD key invalid, or your Trainz installation i damaged. Please reinstall Trainz." I tried to install several times and insert the right CD key, (serial no), but the same error message appear. The Railyard screen is black, (no loco). When I run Surveyor and Driver, I got the error message "Error-Map is missing or damaged." What is wrong?

I am running Vista and running into the same problem. I get a CD key incorrect error but it lets me access the Surveyor menu option and Driver menu option. But the Surveyor screen comes all screwed up and you cannot make out anything. Also when I try to acess any of the routes in Driver it says route is missing etc. Any ideas what is going on?

Hi guys. Please use the Beta Test Center to report bugs. You would see that this is a known and reported problem.
You have a either a corrupted assets DB or it's looking in the wrong place.
If your using Vista, set the program to run in Administer mode.
If you run in normal mode, the chances are it's looking for the asset DB in users******Virtualstoreprogram FilesAuranTS2009 rather than the usual Program FilesAuranTS2009
If that fails, run cmp and rebuild the DB. This should fix the problem.

When I first installed 2009 I got the same results that you are describing so what I did was I went into the trainz 2009 folder and deleted the assets.tdx file and that will rebuild the data base and it now works, so you might try that and see if it gets you going. I'm using vista also.
