TANE frustrations another complaint post.

I have a machine fully capable of running TANE on with full graphics so this post has nothing to do with that. This has to do with the interface and backwards compatibility. Routes that were not broken in TS12 are now completely unuseable. Favorite routes. Routes we love all seem to have one thing in common missing assets. The routes you included with the game have very little prototypical operation in a multi player session. Very few people are making any new content whatsoever. That is the first frustration. The second is I simply can not find a multi player game to save me life. In TS12 there was a lobby you could view all the multiplayer games in. TANE does not have this. I have not even seen a multiplayer game since A few versions of CE back. You consider this game released. I consider it an insult that I paid a fair amount of money for something and waited a fairly long time for it is release and even after agreed upon release dates came and went you release something that is very flashy but has less substance than its previous version. I rarely find a multi player game when I can it won't let me join. Insults aside because I feel like I am the insulted one what are your plans and time table to address these issues?

In terms of missing dependencies, this is to be expected - it has been stated several times that the TS12 built-in content is not on the Download Station yet. Give them time to do so. In terms of new content, people are making new content but it takes time to do so - it's not a 5 minute job.

As for the multiplayer side, it may be that no one is currently hosting a game - this does happen from time to time, although most games are advertised in this forum.

TANE retail has only just been released so players are just starting to join MP games, i for one have hosted a few and i have also joined some, just give everyone time to purchase, download, and have a look at all the other features first.

It was the same when TS12 started MP it was slow to get off the ground but eventually we had a regular crew running MP sessions.

As for player made maps most people were waiting for retail before creating any assets just in case there was major changes in retail which would have negated their work. TANE will get better just be patient, or you could make your own MP maps or sessions and up load them.

Problem is I can not easily find multiplayer games. In TS12 ya click Multiplayer and there's your entire list of multiplayer games. In Tane and Trainz 2 ipad the design is flawed you have to click the route that you think there is a multi player session. In TS 12 I had 60 gigs of content downloaded and hundreds of routes it would take me hours to find a multiplayer game if it had this design. I need a multi player lobby similar to ts12 first of all otherwise when this content gets fixed I will never find a game to join.

Why do some people feel the need to be insulting and abusive when they have a complaint? I might be old fashioned but I think polite requests should be the only ones that merit a response.

I'm guessing you never had TS12 Service Pack 1 then - multiplayer sessions are found in the same place as normal sessions for routes that have an active session.

Why some people feel the need to jump in every time someone complains? I see no insulting here, just someone who is frustrated because he cannot get what he paid for. Fanboys, oh dear. Always the same.

insults

I have edited my post in hopes I may have a better response. Maybe insulting the people who took my money and did not deliver what I expected is not expected or acceptable in other parts of the world other than New York. Seems to be the status quo here however. What do I know I just work a service related job.

This has been addressed above.

Don't do multiplayer so can't comment
Very few people are making any new content whatsoever. That is the first frustration.
I do create objects and will comment. Except for a handful who make payware, just about everyone I know who creates does it for the fun it provides, both in creating and in sharing with others. You might find it frustrating to not have a yard full of new content but speaking only for myself, all I can say is too bad. This is not said in a bad way but I make things when I need them. Others can make their own too and if they can't, then patience is the golden word. Poking the creators to make more and faster will result in less and slower

You do realize that each multiplayer session only exists while it is active? If the host doesn't let you join, that's another issue. No idea how that works but i imagine that that is the prerogative of the host.
... and time table to address these issues?
Tony posted a message about T:ANE MK II in the forum.

I believe T:ANE will only get better so hang in there.

Hi All
For the multiplayer games, at the moment these are simply listed in the sessions listing. As such, the best way to see if any games are available is to choose which route you wish to use, then view the sessions list. This is definitely something that we can improve in future, however it might take a little time.

For the multiplayer sessions themselves, this does depend on which routes you choose. Some routes (such as Bidye Traction) are more focused on 'model railway' style operations (shunting layouts, and similar), whilst others may be more prototypical, and a variety in between. I know for Healesville, I attempted to set it up so it could be run prototypically (quite a bit of play testing between myself, and several railway friends, has shown we could get a lot of prototypical operation out of it). I've not had a chance to run any of the other MP sessions in any great detail though, although I expect that they could be operated prototypically as well (for multiplayer, it really does depend on how you want to operate it, alongside the other players).

The sessions that are included are 'free play' sessions though, so as to be less restrictive. I do believe a timetable, or waybill, type session could be achieved. However, it would definitely require a minimum number of players to actually function correctly.

In regards to missing TS12 built-in assets, we are still working to upload these to the DLS, however it may still take a little time to complete as there are a very large number of assets to be uploaded.

Regards

Maybe a separate listing of active multi player routes similar to ts12 or an indication of multi player sessions on the current route screen although I would like a way to see multiplayer sessions that I don't have installed or own which is currently impossible.
