The next 'retail' version presumably. I wonder which of the new features since Trainz22PE will make it to 2026?
HD terrain would be my bet.

Surely TLR and imposter system are still in development? Plus N3V have made it clear that the retail version will not have all the features that the 'equivalent' Trainz+ even at release. They are pushing very hard to get the imposter system complete and TLR to a level acceptable for release as well. I'm not so sure of HD Terrain. It seems to still have some major issues that need to be worked out. Right now file size is gigantic, often a small route is too large to make a cdp.
Isn't that the way they've always done it?Surely TLR and imposter system are still in development? Plus N3V have made it clear that the retail version will not have all the features that the 'equivalent' Trainz+ even at release.
No, but that argument has already been done to death.Isn't that the way they've always done it?
Trees and other scenery objects are decimated and distilled down to simple images requiring very little processing compared to actual meshes. The system works but has issues right now with lots of stutters and poor performance when there are a lot of objects and trees, although the performance is a bit better in this beta version compared to the previous one. What exactly is this imposter system anyway?
When Plus owners became beta testers, I said that the Plus product was nothing more than a test version of TRS22 to test upcoming versions and all newest features similar to how was with the old Trainz Dev testing group. My view of Trainz Plus has changed. We rarely get a "stable" version of it anymore, perhaps once a year now. Certainly not every three months as promised. I think Trainz Plus has become simply paying to beta test a version that is in a perpetual state of development which means bugs and WIP new features.
If you don't want to test new features, you can avoid the Beta patch stream. When Plus owners became beta testers, I said that the Plus product was nothing more than a test version of TRS22 to test upcoming versions and all newest features similar to how was with the old Trainz Dev testing group.
Tony corrected me and said that Plus is a full-working version of TRS22 with other additions to it. I still think it's a testing platform.
That's right, but lately Plus in general has become the beta with so many unfinished "features".If you don't want to test new features, you can avoid the Beta patch stream.
I personally do not like the imposter system. When ride a train I like to zoom out and look at distant objects. With the imposter system the distant objects look terrible.
Since none of those things are currently a part of Trainz Plus, I would say there is zero chance of them being in a retail release. My bet for TRS2026:
• New Main Menu
• New Driver UI
• DirectX 12
• Bulk Replace Tools
• DLSS Nvidia Scaling
I am less than impressed by the PF vegetation, unless it works better in a new version I see no visual improvement, in fact most of the assets look worse.... triangle counts are higher for some of them than existing assets I'm using .Surely TLR and imposter system are still in development? Plus N3V have made it clear that the retail version will not have all the features that the 'equivalent' Trainz+ even at release.
Are you going to make the built in items and auran assets easier to edit and make variations, at the moment , they can only be changed by using asset x.
New Driver UI and New menu are part of currently X-Box releaseSince none of those things are currently a part of Trainz Plus, I would say there is zero chance of them being in a retail release.
