TAD monitor, TC3 and Windows7 problem.

I have just re-installed TRS2004, TRS2006 and TC3 on my new laptop which has the Windows 7 64 bit Professional operating system.

So far, all well and good. After a TC3 CMP crash and the usual subsequent lengthy rebuild of the Trainz Asset Database, I remembered the TAD Monitor utility which I had used to great effect to get around this problem on my old machine which had the Windows XP operating system.

I installed TAD monitor but I can't get it to work. On start up it displays the following error message:

"TAD Monitor started : 2010/02/06 23:01:43
Press CTRL+C to quit
Warning: fopen(C:\Users\Stephen\My Prog~1\TAD-TC3\TADMLog.txt): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\Users\Stephen\My Programs\TAD-TC3\Monitor.php on line 30
2010/02/06 23:01:43 : Unable to open Log File(). Check File Permissions
Press any key to continue . . ."

As far as I can see, all file permissions for this file are enabled and I have double checked the file paths.

I have tried Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode but it still won't work.

Any ideas, anyone ?

I had exactly the same problem when I installed TADMonitor into my new Win 7 64 bit installation and tried to use it with TC3. I posted a thread on here about it, but didn't really get any joy. Anyway, I've pretty much moved on to TS10 now, so I'm not worrying too much, but it would be nice to know what causes this.

Problem solved (?)

Thanks for your response, Paul.

I may have found a solution of sorts. I have found a free backup program on the internet which can be tailored to back up assets.tdx and assets.bku once per minute, ignoring the files if no changes have been made. Not the instant back up that TAD monitor gave us but probably good enough, particularly at the speed I work. Not fully tested yet, but it seems to be doing the job well enough. It has the added advantage of setting itself up automatically as soon as the PC has started and working silently in the backgound.

I will post here if I discover any snags.

The program (called Replicator) can be downloaded at http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp
