T2010EE error?

Hello! I'm trying to run Trainz 2010 Engineers Edition and I could previously load up the menus but when I tried to start a Route session, the program stopped responding. Now, I can't even load the game upto the menus. I have an Acer 5536, so you can look up the system specs (I'm not too sure on them myself) if need be. I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: Game now loads to menus again, but no further.

Try going into Options when the Launcher pops up. Then, go into the Display Settings tab and change the Display Mode from 'Open GL' box check to 'Direct X' checkbox. Trainz has Open GL set by default for some reason.

I'm curious as to why the game is not registered and appearing next to your name. Once you get that sorted, I'm sure you'll get more suggestions here.

Most programs need to be able to run first, then you can register them. Registration is from within the game, or am I mistaken? Your posts are getting old.

Sorry, Sparky. You can register 2010 (or any Trainz vesion) without even putting the disk into your computer. Just go to your Profile and then to the Serial Numbers link. You can register the numbers off the back of the user manual there.

As for Euphod's posts, they're not "old" at all. He gives good advice because part of the game setup and running checks to see if you've registered the game at Auran.

All I see are the typical Auran fan boys. A whole new crop of users getting the same crap thrown at them in all these threads. The only reason I came back was to check on 2009 SP4, nice to be reminded why I left this hole. With that, I'm off again.

Don't know what's worse, the mess Auran made or the people here who run off any user who finds fault or can't get this mess to work. We now return you to your feel good party.

The other thing that maybe happening now is the program is recovering from the original crash and is attempting to rebuild the Assets.tdx file database.

This will prevent Trainz from starting right away, and can take quite a long time if there's a lot of content installed.

You can get plenty of system information from the following places:

1) DirectX - Type dxdiag in the Run... box under the start menu

2) Control Panel and System.

3) MS Config (MSCONFIG.exe
