T:ANE Release Day Patch now available

But company-wise it shouldn't be the case for N3V, and while they could take more of a community-oriented and helpful approach, it would seem that overall they are more concerned with stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime. Unfortunately, T:ANE reflects this mindset.

IDK, did anyone here really expect Alpha/Beta versions of a game to continue getting support? I can think of no other games that I've ever encountered personally.... I could maybe see it happening in some very rare and bizarre circumstances, but not this particular case. If You have any version of TANE, they give you a free update to the latest..... I would wager you just missed the close of the update for that particular version. You could perhaps ask them if they'd be willing to reinstate the update/patch to the latest to include your current version, but I would wager 2 things here:
1:Its probably quicker to just reinstall. Just back up your data first
2:If you don't ask at least a little nicely they're never gonna do it....

Finally, I fail to see how this has anything to do with any form of particular greed for dollars, dimes, or nickels for that matter....

I agree and also they didn't have to provide a patch from the beta CE edition up to the shipping version. Most companies require uninstalling the previously installed beta and installing the shipped build, including "greedy" Microsoft.

Yes, that was surprising to me in that the patch was sufficient to bring the software up to the shipping version. However, I was noticing some content issues, especially with the Avery-Drexel route, so I downloaded the full installation anyway.

When you try to install the full version, it won't let you until you de-install the previous CE+ version. At that time, the de-installer allows you to keep you downloaded content intact. I noticed no problems with losing content this way.

Installing the new version fixed all previous problems. The final result is outstanding!

As a pointer to the technically challenged: Download a disk defragmenter/optimizer such as Auslogic's Disk Defragmenter (freeware). The massive amount of individual small files comprising T:ANE content will be dispersed throughout your hard drive and will be extremely fragmented. This will slow down your session loads, and hinder performance. Defragment and optimize, and see how much your performance improves!

bit the bullet, unistalled TS12 and CE T:ANE before installing my new digital download release copy. Tried import on laptop before this, of UserData\Local, but it seemed to hang after one fourth of the way. This time, going just take my time and import CDP files instead. That seems best. I downloaded the release yesterday, so I am guessing patch is built in. It did not appear to need updating.
