After a second rebuild nothing is changed. It seems like driver and surveyor have tried to merge, since while i'm in driver, I can place and delete trains on the layout.
This is another issue altogether. This has something to do with layers and it's somewhat confusing to explain.
Routes and Sessions can coexist on what are called layers. There are somethings which are inherently route-centric, meaning grass, trees, buildings, tracks, etc. which have to exist on the route layer, while other things such as trains, scripts, and configurations, which can change so are put on a session layer.
When you save, you are asked to save a session too. In most cases, you will save a default session and overwrite the present one with a new version. These will contain some settings which are needed for both routes and sessions but can change.
Now this is where the confusion comes in, and we've all made this error. When you open up a route in Surveyor you are opening the route. When you open up a Session in the view and edit sessions part of the screen, you have to hit the View Sessions for this, both look the same. The issue is you can edit the route while in the session, just the same as you can in the route its self. You will get a warning first about making some changes and have to click a confirm box, but you can do it. The problem is now you have session stuff mixed with route stuff, and things can get somewhat messy.
To get around this, you can merge sessions into routes or the other way around. In general we recommend sessions into routes, which is done by clicking on the layers-pullout on the right side. (It looks like a stack of paper), and then choosing merge. Just like other merge-options, you are given a from to and choose who you want to place where. Once this is done, you will now have session information in on the route completely so such things as switch machines and signals don't disappear from your routes while in driver.
I hope I explained this. There's probably some stuff I left out which others will pick up and fill in for us.
