Thank you Matt.
I also like to see how it looks like when that westbound train starts at Haugan in the morning :-)

BTW: It seems that your screen shot also does not indicate any shadows – right. It’s the same for me. But when I past the screen shot from the clipboard (after pressing the “print-key”) into an empty gimp file, the shadows are there. Is that the case for you as well?

Your’s TUME

Yes, Tume this is a core engine issue and the only way to get the shadows is thru clipboard or other means to process screenshots via your system driver or preferred software.......

I can confirm that too, screenshots taken in TANE by the "printscreen" button have no shadows but if using an external screenshot program, shadows are there. I use Hardcopy Pro 3.5 for my screenshots in TANE.

New 31 WIP- now in blue by rumour3, on Flickr

The 31 still needs pipes, ACS, headcodes, weathering and quite a bit of work on the textures but I'm happy that it's getting there. I'm still trialling TRam__'s shader fix for the normal issue reported a while back, and all seems to be good. The 31 has major problems with TANE out of the box.

Note that the 47 in the background has got its windows back- not sure why they weren't working properly in the TANE release version. This is an updated version of my built-in one, on the DLS, for those that haven't spotted it yet. All my 47s have been fixed and uploaded.

Rumour - are the louvred panels just a normal-mapped texture, or are they actual planes? Really, really looking forward to the green versions. Excellent.

At the top LOD the louvres are modelled, along with springs, rivets etc. but I'll fall back to normal mapped textures further away. The body mesh weighs in at around 90k polys, but I should be able to drop around half of these, if not more, on the next LOD.

So now it's acceptable to model 3D springs? Thanks for the reply, I just want to know the amount of 3D detail one must put into their models, going forward.

This one is for wva-usa and colorado71. :D
