Switching from Progressive to LOD mesh

Ca Plane Pour Moi
I have recently reskinned a Class 121, but every time I commit the asset, I receive an error message saying I need to switch from a Progressive to a LOD mesh.

What is a LOD and Progressive mesh and why do I need to switch?
Also how do I switch it?

When I place the asset when running trainz, it doesn't display despite the consist arrows appearing.

By the way I usually tick the box that allows you to run older content on TS10.
If it helps I'm currently using patch No. 49933.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi klambert'

You will need to go to http://members.optusnet.com.au/~villaump/pevsoft.htm and download Pev's excellent utilities. The one you want for this is PM2IM, which converts .pm meshes to .im (LOD meshes). While you are on Pev's site, download them all, they are small dedicated utilities and at some point you will need them all. While you're there, scroll down the web page and download the tutorials for each tool and set them all up so you can use them directly from CMP. You will find that between them these tools will solve many of the errors and warnings you will encounter with Trainz assets. For example, missing shadows can be fixed with QuickShadows and various mesh errors can be solved with Mesh Viewer2.

Anyway, PM2IM will solve your current problem.

Good luck.

Ken
