Switch Track Levers

Is there a way you can get Trainz to automatically put the lever you want it to next to a switch track instead of you having to replace the lever every time?

I have wondered also about this and in the past I have seen posts that this can be done with the region.
However, I don't do that much building and so I have not tried it. You might want to search on this topic to find those posts.

Look in your route config file for your route, look for a tag called "region" copy the kuid of the region, paste the kuid into the search window of CMP look for a tag "defaultjunction" change this tag's kuid to your choice. You are probably using the default region, so if I were you I would clone this region and use it as your routes region.

You can replace assets on a route or session all at once. I lay my track having my switch levers install the default ones then using replace asset i change the default ones with the ones i really want. In main menu go to replace asset, open, drag the default lever from track spline to asset to be replaced then get the one you want and drag it to replace with, click ok.

Thank you Danny & Johnny, both of your ways worked.

If anyone reads this in the future I suggest you do what Johnny said. If you do it that way Trainz automatically uses the switch you want it to. If you do it Danny's way & afterward add another switch track, you will have to change the switch again.

I don't have a problem with Danny's method because I don't use one standard switchstand. I use a mix of high and low, so I've got to make individual replacements for some of the anyway.

Johnny suggests looking in a "route config file", but where does one find this file? Is there a separate config file for each route? How does one find the correct route config file?
I assume (probably incorrectly) that one uses MS explorer to search for files on my hard disk, probably drive C: In which directory path should I be looking?

I have found a number of files in directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TS201UserData\local\ . . . under multiple directories with nams such as hash-2e, hash-03, etc. and within each of these hash directories there is a file named config.chump but I don't see how one edits this file.

I am guessing I should be editing with some program like MS-Notepad. Is that correct? If not then what should I be using?

Thanks for any help that can be given on this.

Start your Content Manager. Look up the route. Right-click on it and look up the "open for edit" option. Look up the config file in the directory now open.

When you have the file open look for the tag "region" copy the kuid, open that kuid, look for the tag "defaultjunction" this is the kuid you want to change with your kuid. If the Region is built-in , I would clone it first and then make the changes.

I place all my turnouts with the surveyor options "Auto Place Levers" turned off, and I set the lever of my choice, zoomed in, looking straight down, and tug it into place,
