Surveyor 2 Question - how to assign text to an object

In Surveyor Classic, you can assign some text to an object by Objects - Edit details, then ? and a window pops up and you enter some text in the name field. But, in S 2.0, when you select the object and then edit details, the window that pops up does not have a name field in which to enter text.

What am I doing wrong?

Click on the asset you want to edit details on.
Click on the icon that appears for the asset type, i.e. a building for a scenery item.
Click on Edit Details.

If there are no details to edit, Edit Details may not be available or if it is clickable there will be nothing to change.

I discovered this earlier while doing the same with some assets on my own route I've been working on.

In Surveyor 2.0 you can assign names to objects (e.g. visible text on station sign boards or just simply a name that you can search for with the Finder Ctrl+F tool) using the Info Palette.

Select the object then open the Info Palette (if it is not already open on the screen). Type the name you want to assign to the object in the Name: text box.

If the box is greyed out then the layer containing the object is locked. In which case unlock the layer in the Layers Palette, reselect the object and try again.

Some objects (but not all) will have an Edit Details option in their context menu. This may contain a Name text box but its operation may, or may not, set a displayable or searchable name for that object.
