Supertrain : Once more with feeling....

Thinking of remaking this from scratch starting with Sketchup, going to Blender and finishing with TRAINZ, just to get it to work better w/ the later versions of the game....

In case folks have been wondering..... Here's what I've been doing lately....

Lego Supertrain Locomotive - Done using Lego Digital Designer

Lego Supertrain Transfer - yes your guessing correct I did up all 9 of them one by one...
Supertrain003.png

Lego Supertrain Baggage

Lego Supertrain Single Rooms ( there are three single person hotel like rooms in this car namely )

Lego Supertrain Double Rooms ( two, two person rooms, also a room w/ an ice machine & a soda vending machine between the two of them )

Lego Supertrain VIP Suite ( pretty much a house on wheels, has a living room, dining room, kitchen, the whole shebang )

Lego Supertrain Sleeper ( a bunch of bunk beds namely & a closet for bed sheets & whatnot in the center of them )

Lego Supertrain Pool - The swimming kind not the billiards kind

Lego Supertrain Caboose - last of the set

The files for these are on my website, no they are not for Trainz, they are for Lego Digital Designer, less someone knows how to import them from LDD to Trainz....

Granted has anyone done that kind of mod that turns Trainz into Lego ? Possibly someone has already....

Anyway Lego is copyright The Lego Group yadda yadda yadda you know the drill....

Because my website won't allow CDP files at all for some dumb reason I don't understand at all.....

Yes, this is all updated for TRS-2006, I can't figure out why TS-2010 doesn't like Supertrain, I think it'll be the same for newer versions of Trainz, it won't work for them namely....

Anyway, enjoy the files I have on Google Drive for shareing w/ you all

Getting Windows 10 got me back into getting this to work on newer versions of Trainz as TRS 2004 didn't want to do jack w/ Windows 10 so I reinstalled TRS 2006 & after a few mins of file juggling seeing as I couldn't see how everything looked in TRS 2004 and if I needed to fix missing textures, etc.... It worked so well I got Trainz Classics ( cheap online download from Strat First ) and so far it looks like it'll work on that from the TRS 2006 files I just made, not sure if it'll work for anything after Trainz Classics, but you never know, so I reinstalled both TRS 2010 & TRS 2012, hopefully it'll work on them as well if I tweek the files as I go to the newer games....
LET'S HOPE SO ANYWAY =P

Backdateing ? Not sure what that means, all I know is TRS2004 keeps giving me a "YOU NEED DX9 INSTALLED" error message, when Windows 10 has DX11 installed by default

=P

Doesn't matter, Windows 10 says "can't install this, using newer DX on system" <- or something along those lines.....

P.S. Did I mention this was a brand new computer ? Guess I should of said that from the get go. Only reason I kept my files was 'cause all my games are on an ext 4TB HD ;-)

DirectX9 stands alone, beside DirectX10-11 ... it is a separate entity ... without DirectX9 ... 04, 06 will not play, even though you have DirectX10-11

And you have to uninstall, the installed MS KB3086255 update, as it mess's up many games

TUC works under Windows 10, as does TRS2006, it's only TRS2004 that refuses to do anything, all the others work under Windows 10 as well, I really don't care if TRS2004 doesn't work as I'm updating Supertrain to work on the newer stuff by starting were I left off from which happens to be TRS2006 as that was the last one I had Supertrain working on, if one game isn't working but all the others are, it don't really matter if the ultimate goal is to get it to work for the newer games, I'm okay w/ skipping one, so Supertrain won't work under TRS2004, who still uses it ?

Heck my newest video was in TRS2006 and it looked fine for the most part, just need to DL some missing assets for the map itself, that's an easy fix really.... Ultimately, I'd like to get Supertrain to work under T:ANE, but I don't have that.... yet, the goal is to save it as I go along, the TRS2006 version is saved on my Google drive if anyone wants it, as actual CDP files unlike before on my old site were it was zips and you had to figure out were it all went by yourself.... trying to avoid that this time around and google drive, or one drive, or drop box solves that.

Yes you can still use the old site to see what it all looks like in game, but all that is horribly out of date as of now w/ Supertrain vers TRS2006, yeah dumping the old vers numbering system I was using before in favor of just saying what vers of TRS it'll work under in the name itself and so forth, and if anyone wants it for TRS2004 ? Well vers 5.5.5 is still on my old site after all, just unable to update the old site as they are moving to a new server, and that means the FTP part is down, for who knows how long, so I'm droping the files into Google Drive for now.

Heck might just use that by default seeing as at least there it doesn't matter if it is the CDP file format, unlike my old site which didn't support that, that's why it was all zip files there.

Like I said: "you have to uninstall, the installed MS KB3086255 update, as it mess's up many games, especially TRS2004"

Any game listed here that shows securedisc (and possibly securerom) as the DRM method is almost certain not to run with https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3086255 installed and active
You will know very quickly if you are affected by this update when you try to play a game because you will get a message saying “Please login with administrator privileges and try again”.
If you see that message on Windows 7 or Windows 8 / 8.1 then use the fix described earlier in the Microsoft KB
If you see that message in Windows 10 then you are out of luck and the game will not run on Windows 10 There are no known legitimate or safe methods to install or run these older games on Windows 10

Had no problem installing DirectX 9C in Windows 10, you need the correct runtime installer and not the web updater.

Use this one https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=34429

1. MS KB3086255 - is not on this computer at all....
2. I downloaded the correct DX9 installer form MS....
3. I've even tried reinstalling TRS2004
4. I've tried ALL of this before, and TRS2004 still says "YOU ARE NOT RUNNING DX9 OR YOU NEED NEW VIDEO DRIVERS" <- more or less give me this message.....
5. Most importantly, I've got Supertrain WORKING under TRS2006, so I'm not really worried about backwards support for it.....

Ah, the old.... "Did you try turning it off & turning it back on" does this EVER really work ? Yes I've tried that too =P

I had to get new video drivers because Nvidia was derp when Windows 10 first came out, so yes, all up to date for my GeForce GT 610 video card....

Why do I even need TRS2004 to work ? not like anyone will download my old Stupertrain files for it anyway..... RIGHT ?

It's all about the newer games nowadays, RIGHT ?

If you folks really want a working Supertrain for TRS2004 -> http://www.Furnation.com/Woulfe/Trainz/ <- it's still there, hasn't moved a single inch from the old site.....

If it helps any I'll just come right out and say it.... What I'm working on is.... VERSION 6.0.0 Which is not for TRS2004....
That clear what I'm doing now ?

Woulfe - it may be worth trying my automated DXInstallHelper tool (available from http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...ectX-Install-Helper-Utility-(DXInstallHelper). The reason for this is that the newer versions of Trainz also require DirectX files.

I've just had a look on the MS link posted above which looks like an early version of the web installer package.

Also, at least for TRS2004 (if you are still using it) check the settings in the Configure Trainz box, especially on the Advanced tab - the Disable Hardware TL box is the usual suspect on that one.

If this also doesn't work will people stop trying to get this working for me ? I don't get what the big deal is, all the other versions of Trainz work just fine....
Why should I even bother with getting it up & running ? Like I said, Vers 5.5.5 of Supertrain is DONE, not going to mess w/ it anymore, if it doesn't work in TRS2004....
I'm not supporting that version of Supertrain anymore, I'm working on a newer version, that's for TRS2006 & beyond....
Why is that hard for folks to understand ?

P.S. Guess what still doesn't want to work, I'm not surprised by that at all, and don't care that it's not working, it's not worth this much stress over really....
I've moved on to TRS2006 & am working hard to get Supertrain working on that, then I'll get it working on Trainz Classics, see were were going ? FORWARD.....
I have no reason to go back to TRS2004 really, if I want Supertrain to work on an older version of TRainz, well, I have TUC & it works fine under Windows 10....

=P

P.P.S. Well, I got TRS2004 working and guess what NONE of my content is showing up in it, and you know why, because I'd already changed it to work in TRS2006,
so all these hoops you all had me jump through to get it to work were for nothing, if it's not even gonna show up in the game after all the headaches, it's not worth it.

Again, the idea is to get Supertrain working for the NEWER games not the older one, how many times do I need to say that to get the point across ?

I remember that being an issue with TRS2004 (and sometimes TRS2006). It's usually caused by the intro movie which can be disabled.
