Suggestion needed to get rid of switch control

Hi all,

I'm noob ok but I like to drive the train with full reality controls instead of simply watching a movie letting the AI do the whole job.

Anyway doing like that I'm forced to control manually every single switch on my route, that's definitely insane above all when you have to set several dozens of them just maybe just to for 3 miles.....that's crazy and impossible....

What can you suggest me to drive the train on cab mode but without having to micromanage every single switch ? Is there a way to let the AI manage the switches only ? Am I forced to be a spectator only in DCC mode ?

Which is the setting you experts use ?

Thanks in advcance

BTW I wasn't able to spot inside the manual the function of cab switch control panel where you can control switch 0,1,2,3 etc... what does it happen if I select switch 0 or 1 etc. for instance ?

Thanks

Those are just switches inside the cab which are not connected to anything. "J" and "Shift"+"J" actually control the junction ahead of and behind you (in that order) in Driver.

How would the AI know where you intend to go? When you drive the train, you are in control. switches and all. I find it no big hassle. Heck, what the use of driving a train if you dont want to control where it goes....?

Well, if you give the AI a "Drive To (/Via Trackmark)" Command, then the AI will automatically pick the quickest route to the chosen location/trackmark, even if that means going backwards. However, if you give the AI a regular "Drive" command, then it will just, well, drive, based on whichever way the junctions are set.

You can also use the standard path rule and the AI Path Command to switch several junction at a time.

Usualy you use the path driver command to establish your path and then you use autodrive command to follow the path, but you can of course drive manually along the path set in either DCC or CAB mode.

The path rule by _mutton_ <kuid2:71155:60006:1> enables to define several path with the number of preset junction you want with a name for each path. forget the option for an object to free the path if you drive in manual mode.

When you want to set up a path, just use the driver command Path Command by _mutton_ <kuid2:71155:60007:1> and select the path name you wish to establish. When the driver command has finished to be executed the path is normally set, and you can drive manually along it.

both assets are builtin asset in TRS2006 so you don't need any DLS download.

Hope this helps.
