@TUME, for the Pittsburgh cars, you should also add a clerestory roof...

I toke some time during my brake at work to have a brief look at some pictures from the Pittsburgh PCCs at the internet. I recornized the different looking roof. Also it will reqire to get a completely different mesh at the roof for trolley pole versions and pantograph versions.

But please keep in mind that I will first finish the set of MUNI cars. After that I will do a set of older SEPTA cars. Thereafter I will do PCCs which require major mesh changings and additions in comparison to the basic mesh I created not which represents the MUNIs and the old SEPTAs.

Hallo,

a lot of us are creating towns and landscapes just to resurrect some railroads or streetcar systems – long gone in reality – in the world of Trainz. Some of us takes care of some “Fallen Flags”, others just develops a fictional rail world which could be.

But sometimes reality is much harder and so we have to face rail lines out of operation, disused, dismantled or even overbuilt making a comeback in the real world very unlikely. This is the same for a lot of streetcar lines too. Many Cities, especially in the USA and Europe who ripped off there streetcar lines came to the conclusion that this was a mistake. Now they have planes to reinstall streetcar and light rail systems but also have to face the enormous costs of such a rebuild even along corridors where such lines would provide a profitable operation while increasing the attractiveness of the area around it.

In the other hand a lot of Cities in the old UdSSR did not learn from the mistakes done decades ago at the other side of the world as major closures of streetcar and light rail lines takes still place over there.

Anyway, I take some time to create some scenery objects to get a little more reality in our nice world of rail traffic – even if I wish that streetcars and light rail will demonstrate its advantage in the near future so that the scenes will change from disused tracks towards constructions of tram installation.

A lot of us have seen similar scenes. The tramline has been closed, the trolley wires are gone and the tracks have been paved over as needed or have been converted to a parking lot.

The city budget was not big enough for track maintenance, modernisation or other improvements during the years of usage which eventually caused into the decision to do away with the tramline. But off course there was money left to take the tracks out. Space which could have been used to create a separate tram and bus lane for rapid public transport is now used by individual traffic which seems to jam if the time gets closer to the rush hour.

thanks for your compliment. I created a set of different sidewalks. It fits to the ground texture and will be available within the route. Just I can’t tell you a time for release.

My first Bus – Result

Hallo,

here comes some screens about my latest work.
Years ago I found some source mesh files of objects for city traffic. This also included a preliminary mesh for such a bus. After a lot of mesh improvement (changing and finishing of the outside mesh as well as modelling of the whole interior walls, seats, handles, adverts, bottom floor and so on) I was able to get something working in Trainz.
Eventually some of the outside texture will have to be changed and the wheels could look a little better. Also I will have to get the doors animated.

off some german website (might have been russian... or polish actually) They are built for for some one's U-Bahn Frankfurt route they built. The station is custom as well as some other little bits here and there.

The track with Over Head wire was made by Motorman1066 and can be found on the DLS.
No there are no plans to upload the route at the moment.
