Strange AI Message

I'm getting a very strange message from the AI when I hover over a signal. The message is "The line ahead has a track direction marker facing against us". There are no track direction markers anywhere for miles.

And when I click on the signal, which is supposed to take you to the place where the problem is being caused, I am sent to a place on the route that cannot possibly influence what is going on.

This is a simple terminus station with one island platform, with a track either side. Each track has a siding for run-around. Further up the line there is a double crossover. One side works fine, the other side behaves as described above, and the train will not pass the signal.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mick Berg.

Hmm, could it be a missing buffer at a track end, or one that doesn't behave as a buffer should, AI wise.

I have had the same problem on two routes also. I do have directional markers way down the line on cross over tracks but these are not in the main path of the AI driver since I also have path markers clearly indicating the route to use.

Hi Jan.

Well guess what, there was a missing buffer right in the area of concern. Thank you for helping me to find that. But replacing it didn't get rid of the silly message. I had to preset a couple of junctions differently to get the train to move.

I thought the AI was capable of setting junctions correctly, obviously not always.

Thanks,
Mick.
