Stopping Train next to a station

As usual, I've searched the forum but my feeble brain is unable to locate an answer, so here goes !

Whenever I use the Navigate To command/rule my loco always stops just as it reaches the station (leaving the rest of the train Off platform) instead of in the centre of the station.
I was using a 3 Car Turbostar DMU so thought it might have something to do with the two opposite cars but even with just two terminus stations, if I return the train to the first station it also stops just as it reaches the original platform. Any help appreciated.

Most trainz will stop @ 10 20m from a named trackmarker, unless it is going too fast, then it may miss, and skip by a trackmarker. Several progessive reducing speedboards help slow a train prior to a station

Sounds like it's stopping short of the platform and not overshooting it? If so, yes, you have to use the Navigate To plus the Load command. Navigate To tells it where to go and Load tells it how to interact with the station once it gets there.

Yes it was a case of the train stopping short rather than overshooting the station. Adding the load command has done the trick. Many thanks guys. (Also experimented with track markers but they seem to be a bit more hit-and-miss)

Think about it ... You're in cruise control speeding down the PA turnpike at 75 mph, and an exit is 1/8 mile away ... There is no exit sign ahead, nor any speed resticting board ... is AI suddenly going to know where this exit is ? Most probably without advance warnings, or 2 advance warnings (signals) to slow down, exit ahead ... AI will speed right on past, or pass a station stop. AI will not slow down until the last car of the consist passes a lower speedboard.

Sometimes you have to tell AI to slow for station advance ... slow even further for station home ... and slow even more ... to advance to the station trackmark, at restricted speed.

Even though a high speed line is capable of reachings speeds of 125 mph ... trains do not stop on a dime ... as they slowly reduce speed miles before a station stop.
