stop trains from reversing

Hello,i use the train AI for moving my trains along the tracks. But when a train encounters a stop signal the AI puts the train in reverse. How can i stop the AI from doing that.

When a train encounters a stop signal i want it to stop end wait till the signal turns green/yellow no matter how long it takes.

How can i stop the AI from putting trains in reverse?

A simple way is to use drive via track mark, track direction markers help also.

You could also use track direction markers which will cause the train to travel in one direction only, preventing it from reversing to try and find an alternative route

Thanks for the help.

But i wonder if there is a way to configurate the AI to a simpler level, so it does not try to reverse and find other ways to get to its destenation.

No. Its ok. When they do that, take over with DCC and go forward. Its definitely better than having the AI just sitting there with the red ! beside him....

To put is simply 'No'. AI will do exactly what it wants unless you tie it down with specific commands, direction marker etc. Direction markrs are very easy to use (The yellow arrow heads), if you are using double track running lines just put them along the length of the tracks facing the direction that you want the trains to travel.

@peteredlin, i think you are using the "navigate to " Driver Command,
use the "Drive to " option this will solve your problem.

the train will wait as long as it needs untill path is clear in "drive to"
but in "navigate to" the train will try to find others paths to get to its location, that why it is keep reversing,

"Drive to" is good when used on slow / office trains, where trains has to stop on all stations,

"Navigate is" is good for ICE/Express trains where they need to go past some trains to get to there location fast.

but sometimes both would fail or not work the way they should, because of the Trainz AI flows, you have to try each one and find the best one for you route and need.

happy Trainz,
Suren

It depends on which version of Trainz you have.
Of coarse directional arrows won't work on single track routes.
