The Monticello Railway Museum in Monticello Illinois offers a great time for fans of glory years before 6000hp . It offers several locomotives like, Wabash #1189 the last F7 built at Ontario Canada, Canadian National 6789, Illinois Central GP11 #8733, MILW NW2 1649, Southern 2-8-0 #401 and more. A 8 mile train ride behind one of those locomotives is a fairly scenic ride at least for Illinois from Nelson Crossing to Monticello. Cab rides are $20.00 and tickets are $8.00. Come and See what its all about!!!
