This weeks (22 Sept 2012) New Scientist magazine carries an article about Valve/Steam launching its range of gaming (which include Trains) and social media products on home TVs. The system includes a TV web browser optimised for use with a game controller or a keyboard and mouse. You will need a HDMI cable to connect your PC to the TV, which would not be a problem for most laptops but would be a disadvantage for PCs not in the same room as the TV. However, a future possibility for the system that Valve/Steam is looking at is to take advantage of the next generation of smart TVs that will come with a fully built-in PC.
