Okay, I am brand new to Trainz (just got 2009) however I do have a tiny bit of knowledge about how to stoke and run a steam engine.
I have been tooling around the Wharton Coal Active session included in the 2009 install and I have noticed a few things that I can't seem to rectify.
So before I go crazy trying to make this work, does keeping the doors closed on the burner do anything?
Does the blower do anything?
My first inclination is that the above are modeled but not fully functional. However I am not getting enough time to play and see what the different settings do.
It seems like the coal level drops significantly faster with the doors open but the fireman on the engine in this session is very very slow. I THINK that the doors staying open with the guy taking his time to shovel and wipe his forhead blows air over the coals and burns it down faster in relation to speed. However I also read that the steam engines are not modeled so realistically.
Any comments or suggestions would be helpful (well, within reason hehe)
