Hey, I downloaded Trainz 2012 from Steam and run it using Steam which has worked fine untill now I've decided I would like to add more content. The problem is once I've downloaded from the Download station, I can't seem to "add" it to trainz :(

even more depressing is after spending US $19.90 to buy the Aero Train :D and Blue comet, once they're downloaded, they can't find a trainz 09 or 10 appilcation to load to, even when I click on the steam folder.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be so thank ful :)

If you bought your game from Steam then you can only buy the DLC from Steam. If you bought it from Auran you cant install, because Steam uses a special build number of the software. As for DLS iam not quite sure, but it could be also because it is the steam version.

I used Trainz 2010 via Steam and the DLS worked just fine. I suspect this might have something to do with the SP1 roll-out since, as far as I know, Steam never got any of the 2010 updates so it is likely the same for 2012. Hopefully someone out there knows a work-around.

For your issues with the Download Station, are you downloading using Content Manager? Or have you downloaded a 'cdp' file from the Download Station website?

In regards to the DLC packs, the installers may not pick up on the Steam editions of Trainz. However, please ensure that you are pointing the installer (using the 'browse' tool) to the actual Trainz folder in Steam. To do this, please first locate the Steam folder, then open the folder called Steamapps, then open the folder called 'common'. You should then see a folder marked 'TS2012', please select this as the install location.

We are currently developing the Service Pack 1 update for the Steam editions of Trainz, which will improve the handling of DLC packs. We do not have an ETA on the release of this, however it will be after we have released the hotfix for the 'base' TS12 editions SP1.

Regards

Thanks so much! I managed to get the DLC stuff to download, it was looking in the wrong place :D. However when I start Trainz, if I select "Content Manager" nothing happens (well, it closes the screen). Its the only option that does that, all the others work fine. Any pointers?
Sorry for being so much trouble, your help is hugely appericated :D
