steam dlc

hi all noob here please help

I have downloaded Trainz Simulator - Duchess DLC from steam(thought it was for ts2014) and have now found that it is for trainz o)could someone please tell me how to put it on my trainz 2012.

OK - run the installer, selecting to install it as an addon and pick the TS12 install folder and enter the addon's serial number when prompted. Once it's installed, click Options on the Launcher and add the addon serial there.

I have downloaded from steam and have not go a launcher or cant find one???? bit lost

Where do you normally download things to ?

Myself, I have a folder on my 'desktop' called 'DOWNLOADS', everything I download goes in there, then I can choose
where I want to install it.

Find your Steam folder in Windows Explorer and click the ">" sign to open it, do the same with Steam Apps, and then common. Find and click on your Duchess dlc folder, and in the right hand pane of Explorer copy the .ja file, and paste it into the builtin folder of your TS12 install. When this is done, open TS12 and on the blue dialog that says start, option, content etc, click on Options and copy and paste the DLC serial number into the text box at the top and click the Add button.

And you should be good to go. Any problems, post the details in these forums.

Don't forget to register your Duchess DLC with Simulator Central, then if you upgrade TS12 to SP1 HF4, the duchess dlc will be upgraded with it.

No, my version of TS12 will be (shortly) a download from N3v, I wouldn't touch 'Steam' with your bargepole, let alone mine.

I was actually asking the OP, but looks like they are using a normal version so it may not make much difference. Anyway, I've only got one game installed on Steam - Cities in Motion.
