Station building

Hi all,

Does anybody know of a good station that looks somewhat like my hometown's:

When I say it has to look something like this, I mean it has to reach platforms on an embankment from ground level. So the entrance is on the ground but the platform is on an embankment, if that makes sense?
Thanks for any and all help,

Hello there,

I've not used them myself, but I think there are quite a number of stations for embankments on the DLS. Searching for something along the lines of 'elevated station' or 'raised platforms' may come up with something, although I've not seen any that really resemble the lovely building in the photo (mutters darkly to himself about the complete lack of british Art-Deco buildings in Trainz).

If you're willing to fiddle about in surveyor with platforms and bits and pieces you may well be able to create something good using a few functionalist small warehouses / factory buildings, a decent embankment spline and the other platformy things you'd want to see. There are a number of buildings I've had to create in this way, piling one on top of the other. Sometimes the results can be quite good.

Wish you luck on this one.

Portline,

Have a look at the stations built waaaaaay back by tafweb. There is one called Station Through4t No Roof, which has the look of the building, but you would have to adapt the embankment, may not work, lot of fiddling around.

However, look at his other work there may be something you can use, his work is still excellent stuff.

Regards,

Dave

You can always make a station by using different pieces by different builders.
There's the Union Station building, which is built-in to Trainz. This is a big white concrete, typical 1920s or 1930's style building.

Then there are invisible platforms and splines by Andi06. These are like a giant kit where you can make virtually any station you want.

I've got to admit that's a problem that's been bothering me as well. The included stations by Natvander are perfect for the routes I build but they're all elevated which many stations in real life are not.

When I try to raise the ground level behind the station and embed the station into the slope the ground level protrudes through the track even when using a 5 metre grid. If you use a platform spline then the platform is too wide for the station building

I've wondered if a content creator could make some sort of apron that could be used to cover the gap between the station entrance and the ground to give a flat entrance. I've tried using the flat asphalt bases but that gives rise to a problem at the side where the station tapers to the ground.

Just a thought.
