Static locos please!

You are reading this.
I am looking for some trains to convert to loads, and I was wondering if anyone knew of some. Preferably rusty ones, because I want to make a scrapyard industry out of it. I already have a QR DD17 and a PB15.

They can be static objects or locos without bogies. I would like them without bogies because I tried to convert one with a bogie, and it appeared as the loco itself, with no wheels. Ones with invisible bogies only would be acceptable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can edit the config.txt file of any loco to change it from kind:traincar to kind:scenery. Just edit per the CCG. The resulting scenery item will be without the bogies since they are separate kuids and not part of the loco mesh file.

Related question: Could you go to the config file and "remove" the engine, thus giving you rolling stock that could be placed "dead-in-tow"?

To kill an engine, clone it and make it into a rolling stock item by editing the config.txt file to change:

engine 0
enginespec <kuid:-1:42004201>

delete the enginesound and enginehorn tags.
delete the category class if present or change to XB

I have done this, when I did so I also removed the smoke and light tags.
Here is a suitably rusty loco:
http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_packcontents.php?AssetPackID=18858
Several Russian locos and cars can be found here:
http://gomer-trainz.ucoz.ru/
On the above site the bogies are downloaded from a seperate catagory.

Searching the DLS for "wreck" "derelict" and "end of the line" brings up several other pieces of rolling stock and rolling stock scenery objects.
Here are a few non-DLS scenery objects:
Polish steam locos:

Russian Kch4 (750mm narrow-gauge):

Hope this helps!

I going to ask this myself since I was trying to setup some exhibits at a railroad museum.

I suppose the bogies too could be made static as well? Using category XB, and kind scenery?

John

To keep bogies on a scenery loco, clone the loco and edit in explorer, the config.txt file to kill any smoke/steam containers. Then place invisible rails whereever you want to place the loco and then place the loco.
