Spline problem

Over the years since 2003 when I was first introduced to trains and became hooked I have had some excellent help from other Trainzers and again have something I have been unable to resolve.
I have a Route that has grown over the years and through several versions of Trainz (not without some problems) but this one is baffling me.
I use Road 1 throughout the route and have just found in a new section being constructed that a short section will not respond to any "move - delete" instructions. It does allow road 1 to be added and also if I replace this asset with another road asset "it changes" to the new asset.
There is nothing attached to either end of the spline and using wire option nothing shows anywhere underneath.
I am running Windows 8 and TS12 and have (to my knowledge) no other problems.
I have explained my years of experience with Surveyor to eliminate any help suggesting perhaps I am in the wrong menu etc.
Suggestions gratefully received.

I suggest that perhaps you're in the wrong menu etc. :hehe:
Seriously, there's a bug with some static objects like road intersections or industries - anything which has vertexes for attaching splines to a fixed object - which somehow causes a spline or track to decide "I am no longer a spline, I am now a fixed object". Only way to delete one when that happens is to humor the crazy little thing and delete it using the static fixed object delete tool.

Sniper297 Thanks for the reply - you were spot on - the road spline deleted from the objects menu. Never too old to learn even at 77 !!

I too am having spline problems. I use the MILW-DPC-SP-2-40m-002 catenary spline for track alignment in most of my routes. Most of the time, I'll use it to align a section of track and then move the spline up to align the next section. However, this one section of catenary on my route just does not want to do anything. It won't let me move it, delete it, raise or lower it, connect other splines to it, NOTHING. I've tried restarting the game, trying to delete it in the objects menu, trying to delete it in the track menu, everything. It just will not budge. This is a very large and highly detailed route that I have been working on for about 2 years now. For some reason, my computer will not let me backup anything to an external hard drive, so reinstalling the game is out of the question. This is all happening on Trainz 2010 Engineer's Edition. What should I do?

First welcome to the forums!

I have found that sometimes the tracks, or other objects, get in the way of the spline points which makes removing and adjusting the splines difficult.

Ensure you didn't place this spline on a different layer by mistake and then try to edit on another.

Have you tried looking down on the spline?

Try removing the track and the deleting the spline. That sometimes helps.

Also try connecting another spline to it and then dragging the circle.

Try a different tool like track instead of scenery items. I've had them switch to tracks oddly or vice versa.

Catenary have the nasty habit to sometime lock in on other spline nearby and then create havoc . Therefore you will need to check on all different tools until you find the culprit !
