Speedtree oddities

I would like to add one more oddity I have found with Speedtrees, besides the fact that they have the habit of suddenly popping up as you approach them.

When I set snow line low enough that I can see the trees change to snow covered, only the trees that in my vicinity change; otherwise they remain green.
This, and the fact that despite my calendar being set to August, there is a snowline at all. Maybe it's because Auran is down under? I should set the calendar to December and see if the snow disappears

Snowline would be the altitude above which there is always snow. (AKA the tops of mountains.)

OK. Thanks. I guess I was confused by the snowline referred to by weather forecasters for a particular storm.
